Chapter 38: Healing Mr. Arron

The car glided smoothly along the winding road, gradually easing to a stop before an exquisitely crafted aluminum gate. The intricate patterns in the metalwork caught the fading sunlight, casting delicate shadows on the ground.

As the gates swung open with a soft creak, the vehicle rolled onto the sprawling estate grounds. It was as if they had crossed a threshold into a different world—one suspended between past and present. The estate’s atmosphere was steeped in timeless elegance: graceful arched bridges spanned gently flowing streams, ornate pavilions dotted the landscape, and a large fish pond shimmered quietly amid well-tended flowerbeds. The entire scene radiated a harmonious blend of peace and life, instantly soothing any lingering tension in their minds.

The car finally came to a stop directly in front of the grand main house.

The mansion itself was a striking blend of architectural influences. Its classic framework was enhanced by subtle foreign details—delicate carvings here, a sweeping roofline there—each element executed with the precision and flair of a master craftsman. The house stood proudly, a testament to refined taste and history mingled.

Jacob glanced over at Lilian, noticing her eyes quietly taking in every detail of the estate. A gentle smile tugged at his lips as he broke the silence. “So, Ms. Lilian, does this place meet your expectations?”

Lilian returned his smile, soft and thoughtful. “The style is truly beautiful. Honestly, I hadn’t imagined you would have such sophisticated taste, Mr. Jacob.”

Jacob chuckled modestly, a hint of admiration in his voice. “You’re still young, yet you speak with the calm assurance of someone much older. Ms. Lilian, you never cease to surprise me.”

Just then, a warm, booming voice called out from inside the house. “Lilian, my dear girl, you’ve finally arrived!” Mr. Arron appeared in the doorway, steadying himself with the help of a housekeeper.

Lilian’s face brightened with a genuine smile. “Mr. Arron, judging by the strength in your voice, I’d say your spirits are high today.”

Mr. Arron laughed heartily, the sound filling the room. “Flattery will get you everywhere, little one. But I’ll take that as a compliment. Hearing such kind words from you puts my heart at ease.”

Together, they stepped inside the grand residence.

Soon after, Lilian began her examination, carefully checking Mr. Arron’s pulse with practiced fingers.

After a brief moment, she looked up, her expression calm but confident. The old man’s eyes searched her face anxiously. “Well? What’s the verdict?”

Lilian’s reassuring smile softened the tension. “It’s nothing too serious. Most of these issues stem from old injuries you sustained in your youth—wounds that were never fully treated. Over time, they developed into chronic conditions. But don’t worry. Keep your spirits up, and I’m confident you’ll be almost fully recovered within a month.”

“Really?” Mr. Arron’s voice wavered with emotion, clearly touched by the hope in her words.
