Sebastian looked serious. “But Jackson’s involvement in this is also perplexing. Logically, Catherine was h sister, so he should have protected her. It’s truly unthinkable.”

Lilian’s lips curled into a cold smile. “Insane people often cannot be understood using normal reasoning. The fact that Jackson could even conspire with Madison suggests his thought process is different from the average person. I just wonder if his wife knows about this.”

Sebastian’s deep eyes held a chilling shadow. “Jackson is a notorious playboy in Murica. His wife, Tracy, usually turns a blind eye. That’s because she knows he’s unfaithful but never gets emotionally involved, and none of Jackson’s new girlfriends last more than a week. Do you think Tracy would care?”

Lilian smiled mockingly. “That’s only because she doesn’t know Madison exists. If she found out that her husband and Madison have been involved in an affair for several years, do you still think she would turn a blind eye?”

Sebastian scoffed. “That depends on how deep their relationship truly is.”

Lilian placed the file on the desk, looking thoughtful. “Where is Madison’s husband? Why hasn’t she gone back to see him after all this time?”

Sebastian walked to the bookshelf, pulled out a bottle of red wine from one of the compartments, and poured it into a glass. “Her husband is named Oliver Nico, and he’s only considered a third–rate wealthy family in Murica.”

“Oliver is a rather simple–minded person, so he always does whatever Madison tells him without any objection. Furthermore, the Nico family relies on the Philips family to sustain much of its business, so he wouldn’t dare voice any complaints in front of Madison. I believe that’s why he hasn’t discovered her affair with Jackson after all this time.”

Lilian’s smile was cunning. “What do you think Oliver would do if he found out about his wife and Jackson?”

Sebastian leaned against the desk, casually swirling the wine in his glass. “Though Oliver is simple- minded, he is definitely not slow–witted. He tolerates Madison entirely because the Nico family needs the Philips family for development. But if Madison can’t bring him these extra benefits, do you think he would still be foolish enough to tolerate her?”

Lilian walked up to the man, her smile sly. “Then would you/mind helping me invite Mr. Oliver here?”

Sebastian put an arm around the girl’s waist, pulling her closer. “Oh, my help comes at a very high price.”

Lilian’s smile was full of cunning. “A lady like me has no money, but I have only one person to offer.”

Sebastian set the wine glass down on the desk, leaning closer to her. His eyes held a burning light. “Then I will reluctantly accept that person.”

The next day was the Philips Corn anniversary gala.

The styling team arrived at the manor at noon.
