Rewrite Her Thrilling Life (Lillian and Sebastian) novel Chapter 96

96 Childhood Friend Noreen

Just then, a soft, delicate voice chimed in, You guys really shouldn’t tease Sebastian like that. And look at the girlshe’s so young. How could she possibly be his girlfriend?

Noreen spoke with a half smile, though her eyes were locked on Sebastian, brimming with admiration.

Lilian turned toward the voice. The woman looked to be around twenty, with the kind of features popular nowadayssharp chin, big eyes, and a dainty yellow cocktail dress that emphasized her youthful charm.

Sebastian ignored everyone else. He called over a server, took a glass of warm water, and set it in front of Lilian. Your body’s still recovering. Drink some warm water,he said gently, brushing her hair with his fingers.

Lilian playfully glared at him. Stop touching my head. I’m trying to grow taller.

The men around them were visibly stunned by the affectionate scene. Noreen’s eyes darkened, though she kept a soft smile. Sebastian, come on. You bring her here and only let her drink water? You’re being way too strict for a big brother, don’t you think?

She refused to accept that the girl could actually be his girlfriend.

All these years, she had waitedworked hard to become someone worthy of him, trying to fit into his world. Wherever Sebastian went, she begged her brother to bring her along.

He never let women get close. That’s why she believed she was special. If she just waited, he would one day see her worth.

But tonight, she saw him walk in holding another girl’s handand she couldn’t let that go.

Lilian, still masked, narrowed her eyes in subtle mockery. And you are? I don’t recall my mom giving birth to another daughter.

Noreen stiffened slightly. She hadn’t expected the girl to be so blunt. Still, she forced herself to smile. I almost forgot to introduce myself. I’m NoreenSebastian’s childhood friend.

No sooner had she said that than a piercing, icy gaze fell on her. It made her shiver.

Childhood friend?Lilian repeated thoughtfully. Then she looked at the man beside her. How come you never told me you had such a beautiful childhood friend?

Turning back to Noreen, she added calmly, You may be close with Sebastian, but I’d prefer if you called me Lilian. I’m not really fond of being called sisteror little sisterby strangers. We’re not that close.

Noreen hadn’t expected the girl to be so direct and unapologetic. Her smile turned stiff. I guess I was a little inconsiderate.

Sebastian looked at Lilian, a soft smile tugging at his lips. Forget about all that. You haven’t eaten yet. Want me to have something brought over?

At the mention of food, Lilian immediately perked up. Yes, I’m starving. And no more porridge!

Sebastian saw the pitiful look in her eyes and brushed the tip of her nose. Little glutton,he teased, then waved over the waiter to

order her favorite dishes.

Noreen’s expression soured. Especially after hearing him say none of that matters.Did that mean she didn’t matter at all?

The rest of the guys were still frozen in disbelief. Noreen muttered in mock bitterness, Sebastian, you ever think to ask if we’re

He was only trying to lighten the mood and spare his sister further embarrassment.

Sebastian’s reply was cool. Order whatever you want.

Wow. Our brotherhood is basically one of those buyonegetonefree deals.

Fawks glanced at Lilian, then asked boldly, Sebastian, are you going to tell us if she’s our future sisterinlaw or not?
