hapter 98 Stone Revealed
Lilian’s chosen raw stone was finally won at a price of 120 million.
A server stepped into the private box and asked, “Mr. Sebastian, shall we proceed with cutting?”
Sebastian looked at Lilian with warmth in his eyes. “Let’s cut it open and see if you like what’s inside. If not, we’ll just pick another.”
“Mm, let’s do it,” Lilian nodded.
The auction had ended, and now it was time for the stone–cutting session.
The first seven stones had already been cut open. The results matched what Lilian had foreseen.
At last, it was Lilian’s turn.
With a sharp buzzing sound, the stone was sliced down the middle–revealing only ordinary rock inside.
From the corner, Noreen let out a mocking laugh. “Looks like stone gambling isn’t just about luck. But it’s okay–Sebastian won’t mind losing a little for you.”
Lilian paid her no attention, her expression calm as her eyes stayed on the screen.
Then, suddenly-
“Green! It’s green!”
“Yeah, looks like ice jade!”
The master cutter splashed water over the exposed area. A brilliant, vivid green emerged, gleaming with a fine, translucent texture that immediately drew gasps from the room.
“Rare type!” the cutter exclaimed, his hands trembling in excitement.
The auction hall fell completely silent. Every eye was locked on the exposed green jade.
The master delicately began grinding away the rest of the stone’s surface.
“This is stunning. Absolutely incredible.”
“Yeah, seeing a rare imperial green like this–it’s once in a lifetime.”
“Rare imperial green is top–tier jade. Priceless.”
“Wonder who bought it. Will they sell?”
Lilian watched the stone being carefully opened. After the water wash, the emerald tone practically glowed from the screen–it was breathtaking.
“Lilian, you’re amazing! How did you know that stone had jade inside?” Fawks gushed, eyes wide with admiration.
A sly, bright smile tugged at her lips. “I got lucky.”
Sebastian gazed at her in adoration. He gently ruffled her hair and said in a low, fond voice, “Mm. My girl has the best luck.”
“Yes. Ms. Lilian is just so lucky.” Noreen muttered through clenched teeth, her eyes locked on the rare green with burning envy. Rare impenal green, the pinnacle of jade quality–and that girl managed to stumble onto it?
Lilian simply smiled, her tone light. “Thank you, Ms. Noreen, for the compliment.”
