“What do we do now? Skyreach is holding that press conference on Friday,” Rowan said, his anxiety growing. “If Lilian manages to flip the script, all our work will be for nothing.”

Robert let out a low, chilling laugh. “Then we just make sure she doesn’t. No matter how skilled she is or how good her formulas are, she doesn’t have a pharmaceutical license. That makes everything she’s done illegal. Combine that with the fact that she systematically destroyed the Sinclair Group, and we have enough to bury her. If we hammer those two points, she won’t have a leg to stand on.”

Rowan’s eyes lit up. “That’s brilliant. I know exactly what to do.”

“Remember,” Robert added with a cold smirk, “She’s just an eighteen–year–old brat. Without that man protecting her, she’d be nothing. Plant our own people at the press conference. Have them ask the most aggressive, pointed questions possible. She’ll lose her cool, and once she panics, we’ll be the ones controlling the narrative.”

“Understood,” Rowan replied. “I’ll make sure everything is in place.”

Robert set his meditation balls on the table and stood up. “Make sure this is flawless. If we fail this time, we won’t get another shot at her.”

Across town at the Sinclair villa, Chloe burst through the front door and headed straight for the master bedroom. The moment she pushed the door open, the stench of stale alcohol and cigarettes hit her. She wrinkled her nose in disgust, stepping over the mess on the floor.

Empty bottles were scattered everywhere, and cigarette butts were piled in makeshift ashtrays. Henry was curled up under the covers, looking like a shadow of his former self. Chloe looked at him with blatant contempt. “What a pathetic loser,” she muttered. “Drinking and smoking your life away.”

She walked to the bed and shoved him. “Dad! Wake up! Get up right now!”

“Leave me alone,” Henry groaned, his voice muffled. “Get out.”

Chloe didn’t stop. She kept shaking him. “Dad, wake up! I have something important to tell you.”

“I don’t care if the world is ending,” he snapped. “Let me sleep.”

“So you’ve just given up on the company?” Chloe shouted, her voice echoing in the messy room. “You’re fine with being a nobody for the rest of your life? You don’t want to go back to being the head of Sinclair Group? You’re just going to rot here? Is this how you repay Mom for risking everything to help you get the company back?”

Henry sat up abruptly, his expression twisted with rage. And what do you want me to do about it? You think I enjoy this? You think I want to waste away here? The Sinclair Group is gone, Chloe! It’s gone! Do you understand that?”

Chloe glared at him. “Then take it back! The Sinclair Group belongs to our family. Lilian had no right to take it! We should be confronting her. She’s your daughter, for God’s sake. No matter what happened in the past, she had no right to be this heartless.”
