Chapter 989 Provocation
45 Free Coins
Lilian’s powerful opening statement left the reporters exchanging uneasy glances. In a typical press conference, few would dare to openly threaten the media, but it was becoming clear that the chairman of Skyreach did not play by the usual rules.
Outside the building, the scene was being broadcast on every major digital billboard across Kingston. Pedestrians stopped in their tracks, staring up at the giant screens to watch the teenage chairman handle the pressure with unnerving calm. Across the city, countless eyes were glued to television sets. Some watching with anxiety, others with jealousy, and many simply waiting for her to stumble.
“Ms. Lilian,” a reporter in a beige vest spoke up, his tone laced with a sneer. “Skyreach was founded four years ago in Solara. You were only fourteen at the time. How exactly did you pull that off? Or is it true, as the internet suggests, that you’ve had a wealthy benefactor backing you from the start?”
Lilian looked directly at the man, a cold smile touching her lips. “A benefactor at fourteen? Are you insulting your own intelligence, or are you challenging the laws of this country? I can tell you quite clearly. By the time I was fourteen, my surgical fees for a single patient already reached seven figures. Do you really think I needed a sponsor?”
Her blunt response sent a flush of embarrassment to the man’s face. He hadn’t expected her to be so direct, let alone so ruthless.
“Is it true that every formula for Skyreach’s pharmaceutical products came from you?” another reporter asked.
“Correct. To date, every single product formula was developed by me.”
“Our understanding is that you are merely a student at Kingston University’s medical school,” the reporter pressed. “Putting your own formulas into mass production and selling them to the public. Don’t you think that’s incredibly reckless with human lives?”
Lilian didn’t miss a beat. “Skyreach has been selling these products for three years. In that time, we have received nothing but acclaim and awards. That is an indisputable fact. Furthermore, you seem to be missing a key piece of information. I began studying medicine at eight years old. I have ten years of experience in this field. I have absolute confidence in my work, and the CR Medical Exchange was the ultimate proof of that.”
The room went quiet for a moment. No one could argue with the authority of the CR Exchange; Lilian’s performance there had left even the most veteran doctors in the country in awe.
“It’s common knowledge that you are the biological daughter of Henry, the former head of the Sinclair Group,” a female reporter said, standing up. “You systematically dismantled your own father’s company. Isn’t that cold–blooded?”
