Rowan didn’t wait. He snatched the booklet right out of the official’s hands. “I don’t buy it,” he snapped. “How can this be valid? The law requires a pharmacist’s license. She can’t just wave some random notebook around and call it a day.”
He flipped it open, his face contorting with rage as he turned to the official. “This is just a research certificate! How does this change anything?”
The official opened his mouth to explain, but the doors swung open before he could get a word out. An elderly man with shock–white hair marched into the room, followed closely by a younger assistant.
Lilian looked up, her eyebrows shooting toward her hairline. “Jorge? What are you doing here?”
The room went dead silent. The reporters practically tripped over each other to get their cameras in position. This was Jorge, the man was a ghost in the public eye, a medical legend who almost never appeared at media events. The shutter clicks were deafening.
Jorge walked straight up to her, looking genuinely offended. “What am I doing here? I’m here because I heard you on the live feed telling the whole country the credential I gave you was useless!”
Lilian blinked in surprise. “Did you fly here? I only said that a few minutes ago.”
The young man beside Jorge laughed. “He was actually in the neighborhood. He had a lunch date with Mr. Noah, but he saw the broadcast in the car. He got so worked up, he made the driver pull a U–turn and head straight here.”
“Well, that explains it,” Lilian said, leaning back. “Talk about perfect timing. It’s like something out of a movie.”
Jorge huffed. “You have no idea how hard it was to get you that. People would kill for that certification, and here you are calling it junk.”
Lilian tilted her head toward the official and Rowan. “Don’t look at me, Jorge. They’re the ones who said it didn’t count. They were just about to seize all my products and haul me off for questioning. I guess people won’t be able to buy my formulas anymore. Next time you see Mr. Geo, tell him I’m sorry, but my hands are tied.”
The official looked like he was about to have a heart attack. Jorge wasn’t just a doctor; he was a man with connections that reached the very top of the government. He treated the elite. One word from him could end a career.

Jorge turned his gaze to the man, who was currently busy mopping sweat from his forehead. “You’re the one claiming this isn’t valid?”
“No! No, Mr. Jorge, there’s been a massive misunderstanding,” the official stammered. “I would never say that. A Master Research Certificate is the most prestigious credential in the industry. I know exactly what it’s worth.”
