threw the heavy metal bolts on the rear loading door and pushed it open. The alley was clear. The group slipped out, slammed the metal door shut behind them, and sprinted around the building Jake and Julian led the charge, boarding the RV first. Julian slid into the driver’s seat and cranked the engine.
As the rest of the team piled into the back, Julian slammed the RV into gear and roared around to the front of the convenience store. The heavy vehicle plowed directly into the remaining zombies, the fires crunching loudly over flesh and bone as they crushed the horde against the asphalt.
Once the area was clear of movement, Julian parked the vehicle. “Everyone out,” he ordered with an arrogant smirk. “I want to see how many cores we got this time.”
The entire team climbed down onto the pavement. Working together with knives and tools, everyone helped dig out the zombie cores from the base of the crushed skulls, collecting a fresh batch of crystals before piling back into the RV and speeding away, leaving the store behind them.
Meanwhile, back at the apartment, three hours of intense focus had finally passed. Joanna sank back into her chair, exhaling a long breath as she looked at the empty velvet boxes and discarded duffel bags scattered across the table. She had systematically absorbed every single piece of jewelry from their massive haul, taking her time and drinking water steadily to keep the strain at bay.
The steady, rhythmic expansion in her mind had finally stopped, settling with a deep, anchoring click. She had surpassed her wildest expectations, pushing all the way to level thirteen. She smiled with absolute delight and excitement, though a spark of intense curiosity flared within her-she couldn’t help but wonder what new rules or hidden changes might unlock at such a high milestone.
As she focused on the energy humming within her, she realized a major breakthrough: with this upgrade. she could move things into her space from even further away. Eager to test it, she opened her eyes back in the apartment, reached out her mind, and pushed her awareness through the walls. Her automatic search range had expanded significantly, stretching out to cover a massive 1500, or closer to 2,000 square feet.
Eager to find out, Joanna closed her eyes and willed herself into her pocket dimension.
When her awareness materialized inside, her jaw dropped in pure astonishment. The original storage containers were no longer alone. Looming right next to them stood a colossal, gleaming structure that looked exactly like a modern industrial warehouse.
She took ten minutes to jog around the entire base of the building! She stood in the center of the pristine concrete floor, incredibly excited about reaching level thirteen and completely awestruck by the sheer size of this warehouse.
She walked across the pristine concrete floor toward the massive new storage building. As she approached the main entrance, she noticed a sleek electronic screen system mounted on the wall, glowing with a soft blue light. Taped right next to it was a fresh set of typed papers, appearing just like the instructions from other upgrades.
Joanna stepped closer to the electronic screen system and began reading the taped papers. The text clearly outlined her new level-13 perks:
Automatic Decontamination: Any item brought into the pocket dimension is instantly cleansed of blood, grime, toxic chemicals, or zombie virus strains, making supplies immediately safe for the team to use.

Intelligent Inventory & Low-Stock Alerts: The warehouse automatically categorizes and tracks all contents, sending a direct mental alert to the host whenever essential items like food, water, or medical supplies run
angerously low.
Joanna smiled and reached out to tap the glowing screen. As she pressed a few buttons to explore the interface, a message flashed across the monitor: “Would you like extra supplies to be stored on shelves?”
“Yes,” Joanna muttered aloud, typing her confirmation directly onto the screen.
Instantly, a soft hum vibrated through the air. Every loose tool, weapon, and supply item that had been scattered haphazardly across the concrete floor and old storage containers vanished, rematerializing in neatly stacked, pristine bins on the warehouse shelves. The system even allowed her to completely sort reorganize, and label her entire inventory using just the touch screen, and the warehouse would physically move the items to match her commands automatically.
“Sweet!” Joanna whispered, a thrilled grin spreading across her face as she realized just how efficient her stronghold had become.
