Chapter 130 Woof…Gravity Manipulation ability
Wh her core group gathered together, Joanna walked over to Titan, the corgi, and picked him up into her arms. Over this past week, the little dog had definitely gotten bigger, and his thick coat looked incredibly healthy under her care. The prominent ribs that had once shown through his fur were completely gone. replaced by solid muscle, making him look a lot healthier than when she had first rescued him from the wasteland.
Joanna carried Titan out into the hallway and set him down, marveling at how sturdy he felt now. Walking down the long corridor, she held out her hand, casually sweeping the piles of furniture, mattresses, clothing, and abandoned electronics into her level 13 storage space.
Titan trotted closely at her heels, his stubby legs moving with a newfound, rhythmic confidence. Suddenly, as Joanna reached a massive pile of heavy oak dressers, the little corgi stopped. His ears perked up straight, and a low, resonant growl vibrated in his chest.
“Titan?” Joanna asked, pausing to look back at him.
Before her eyes, the air around Titan began to distort, shimmering like a heat wave. A soft, golden luminescence bled out from beneath his healthy coat. He let out a sharp, authoritative bark, and a localized shockwave of pure kinetic energy rippled outward from his small paws. The heavy oak dressers in front of him vibrated violently, lifting an inch off the ground for a split second before settling back down.
Titan had just awakened a Gravity Manipulation ability.
The little dog blinked, looking down at his own paws with a dazed, pleased expression, then looked up at Joanna and wagged his nub of a tail. He had always been a sweet companion, but now, he was officially a defender of the team, capable of pinning down zombies or altering the weight of objects in a fight.
Joanna quickly finished clearing the rest of the hallways, sweeping the final remnants of the abandoned furniture into her space, and carried Titan back into the apartment.
She gathered the group around and told everyone about Titan’s sudden gravity manipulation awakening. The room erupted into chatter, completely charmed by the idea of their little corgi becoming an able user.
Raven bounced on her heels, completely excited by the news. She knelt down to look the dog in the eye and said, “Doesn’t it seem like Titan has been understanding us these past few days?”
Rachel stepped closer, her curiosity piqued as she activated her newly awakened telepathy. She focused her mind, attempting to see if Raven’s hunch was true. A second later, Rachel gasped and smiled brightly, confirming it. She explained to them that Titan’s mind was sharp, fully comprehending their words and radiating a fierce, protective loyalty toward the group.
Jake looked on like a proud dad, a rare, massive grin breaking across his usually stoic face. He crossed his arms and nodded down at his furry teammate. “Good boy,” he said warmly. “I’ll start training Titan right away. If he’s going to ride shotgun in The Beast, he needs to know how to pin down anything that gets too close.”
Joanna rolled her eyes at Jake’s sudden burst of parental pride but said nothing, a fond smile hidden just beneath her tough exterior.
Before the conversation could shift entirely to Titan’s training schedule, Allen looked up from his glowing device. “Hey, Ryan just texted the group. He says some soldiers are downstairs at the main entrance.”

Jake nodded, his relaxed demeanor instantly shifting into focus. “Oh, that must be William and his crew.”
“Alen, tell Ryan to bring Will upstairs,” Joanna commanded smoothly, her posture turning sharp and businesslike as she prepared for the meeting.
While they waited for the heavy footsteps to echo down the hall, Julian spoke up to the group. With his usual aloof dominant CEO vibe, he filled the rest of the gathered team in on exactly what had happened when they first crossed paths with William and his military squad out on the road.
The apartment door opened, and Ryan led the military contingent into the room. Surprisingly, when William entered, he was accompanied by a few men Joanna remembered from their initial meeting on the road, but another man walked in beside them whom Joanna didn’t recognize at all.
This new man was sharp and commanding, moving with an effortless precision that instantly drew every eye in the room. He radiated a perfectly calm and deadly aura, the mark of someone who had survived countless frontline conflicts long before the world fell apart.
It was Commander Briggs.
The moment the commander crossed the threshold, Jake’s relaxed posture vanished. He stood straight up, his shoulders squaring back automatically as the deeply ingrained remnants of his past military training
kicked in.
