Chapter 208 The Renewal Button And Surplus Of Fresh Food

“Let’s go see!” Joanna was already on her feet. They followed her out to the warehouse-a wide, cool space smelling of concrete and charged air. She glanced back, fingers outstretched. “Jake, the pad.”
He handed it over. She flicked through a few screens; the panel chimed softly. There it was: the renewal function, newly installed.
The room’s capacity was staggering. It could restore any object-up to the size of a small home-to its original state, provided it fit within her storage space. There was even a search function; no need to place items inside physically.
Julian snatched a water glass from a nearby table and hurled it against the far wall. It shattered.
Joanna pressed the button.
The shards skittered back together as if time had reversed.
Allen crossed the room, crouched, and lifted the glass. He looked up grinning. “Is that not the coolest thing you’ve ever seen?
Joanna took the glass, its rim flawless. Outside, she crushed it under her boot on the concrete. An experiment.
She closed her eyes. The system was part of her mind. *Renewal*. The world blurred at the edges; the glass pieced itself back together, dust shaking off silently. No sound, no flash-just entropy reversing.
Joanna smirked. “Great. Now Julian can throw a tantrum and I don’t have to hide the good glasses.
“Even better than the recycling bin,” Allen said. “It does all the work for you. Kind of like magic. Or, you know, the way you do everything else.” Joanna felt something deep and intense crack open in her chest-a pure, greedy delight.
Uncle Nate and Commander Briggs approached, their expressions somewhere between wonder and
concern.
“Joanna,” Uncle Nate said, scratching his jaw. “We’re not sure if it’s because of the upgrade to level 14 storage space, but… the animals are acting strange.”
“Strange how?” she asked.
“They’re reproducing and growing at double the rate,” Commander Briggs said, his voice tight with the effort of sounding calm about biological impossibilities. “The chickens laid a week’s worth of eggs overnight. The calves look a month older than they did yesterday.”
“Check the warehouse pad,” Uncle Nate said. “The one that tracks automatic harvesting.”
Joanna pulled up the electronic interface, fingers hovering over the glowing screen. She navigated to the livestock monitoring section.
The numbers blinked back at her in cool blue text.

Thousands of pounds of meat. Thousands of eggs. A sur plus that would have taken months to accumulate through normal husbandry.
She stared at the figure, the reality of it settling in her chest like a stone dropping through still water. They weren’t just surviving anymore. They were thriving on an impossible scale
“Well,” she said softly. “That’s… something”
“Something indeed,” Uncle Nate muttered. “Just hope we can keep up with the feed.”
Joanna closed the pad, her mind already racing through the implications. If the system could do this-if it could bend reality around living things as easily as it restored broken glass-then what else was possible?
What else had she just unlocked?
Before she could process her own thoughts, a chorus of voices erupted across the compound-excited, overlapping, and rushing closer. Raven took the lead, her small legs propelling her swiftly from the farm area. Titan bounded alongside her, radiating pure canine joy. RJ followed closely, her confidence evident. in her broad smile. From the opposite direction, Kailee and Caleb emerged, having just come from the path that wound to the Water Spring.
“Joanna!” Raven called out, skidding to a halt, her eyes wide with anticipation. “The farm-did you do something? Is this part of the upgrade?”
“The Water Spring too,” Kailee chimed in, breathless with excitement. “We were just there this morning, and now-”
“It’s bigger,” Caleb interjected, his voice filled with awe “Everything’s bigger.”
RJ nodded vigorously, finally catching her breath. “The boundaries. The space itself. We walked the perimeter-it’s expanded. The farm plots, the spring, the grazing land. All of it.”
“Growing it how much?” Uncle Nate asked, stepping forward, his brow furrowed with curiosity.
Raven exchanged a glance with RJ. “We measured roughly. The farm area? It’s almost doubled.”
“The Water Spring’s reservoir is twice as wide,” Kailee added, her voice brimming with excitement. “And the current’s stronger. More pressure.”
Joanna accessed the warehouse pad again, navigating to the system overview. There it was, tucked within the status readout: Spatial Dilation Field – Active. Territory Expansion: +104%.
“One hundred and four percent,” she read aloud, astonishment creeping into her tone. “We’ve more than doubled our usable land.”
