Joanna woke up to total darkness outside her bedroom window. Shaking off the last remnants of sleep, she left a softly snoring Bubbles on her bed and headed downstairs. The heavy aroma of roasted meat and savory broth hit her immediately. The team was gathered around the large wooden dining table, eating a quiet, focused dinner to fuel up for the raid.

Once the plates were cleared, they finalized the plan. No more bickering, just cold tactical execution.

“We strike fast, we strike hard, and we don’t leave the building standing,” Joanna said, pulling her gear tight.

With a single, massive spatial jump, Joanna bypassed all the outer defenses, teleporting the team directly into the facility’s main security station first. The room was lined with walls of monitors displaying live feeds of the entire base, and half a dozen guards sat frozen in shock at their sudden appearance. Before they could reach for their sidearms, Joanna moved like a blur. Harnessing her super strength, she slammed two guards’ heads together, knocking them out instantly.

“Briggs, hold the door!” Julian yelled, drawing his weapon.

“On it! RJ, handle the tech guy!” Briggs barked back, positioning himself by the entrance.

RJ’s eyes flashed with a subtle, hypnotic light as she deployed her mind control on the lead technician. “Lock down all the internal blast doors and cut off external communications now,” she commanded softly. The tech’s hands flew across the keyboard in a daze. Within seconds, the facility’s eyes and ears were completely blind, trapping the remaining forces in the dark.

“Perfect. Let’s go deep,” Joanna said, expanding her spatial energy to teleport the team deeper into the complex, dropping them straight into the heart of the Bloodfang underground laboratory.

The transition dropped them straight into a literal house of horrors. The air was a suffocating cocktail of chemical fumes, decay, and the copper stench of fresh blood. Flanked by rows of flickering fluorescent lights, the massive subterranean laboratory was lined with reinforced glass cells and rusted steel operating tables. Inside the cells, horrific experiments were on full display: captured ability users were strapped to brutal medical machines, their veins pumping with glowing, unnatural serums while they convulsed in agony as the scientists tried to drain or amplify their powers. Right across from them, rotting zombies were bound in heavy iron shackles, their limbs surgically modified, spliced with mechanical parts and weapon attachments. The desperate, pained whimpers of the tormented ability users mixed with the guttural, echoing snarls of the undead created a terrifying symphony.

“Monsters,” Kailee whispered, her eyes wide with fury. “They’re torturing our own kind.”

“Not for much longer,” Glacier growled, his breath fogging in the chilled lab air. “Let’s burn this place to the ground.”

The alarms inside the lab sector instantly blared, and dozens of heavily armed Bloodfang soldiers rushed into the room from the intersecting corridors, guns raised.

“Clear the room! Watch my back!” Briggs roared. He slammed his fists together, and a massive wall of roaring fire erupted from his hands, sweeping down the main aisle. The intense heat incinerated the incoming bullets and cooked the front line of soldiers alive, filling the room with smoke.

“I’ve got the flank! Light ’em up, Julian!” RJ shouted, staying close to the defensive line.

From the smoky chaos, Julian the Executioner leaped forward. “With pleasure! Let there be light!” he shouted, channeling his electricity. His entire body glowed with a blinding, crackling blue aura that completely illuminated the shadows. He threw his hands outward, launching a web of lethal chain lightning that arced from soldier to soldier, overloading their weapon systems and frying their nervous systems instantly.

A heavy brute of a guard tried to sneak up on Julian from a side door, but RJ stepped back into action. “Hey, big guy! Look at me!” she called out. With a single glance from her, the brute froze mid-stride, his expression going completely blank. “Turn around and shoot your squad,” RJ commanded coldly.

The brute blinked. “Yes, ma’am,” he mumbled, spinning on his heel and unleashing a heavy barrage of gunfire into his own retreating allies, throwing the enemy ranks into absolute panic.

“More coming down the stairs! Get back!” Kailee warned, her hands already swirling with currents. Summoning her wind power, she whipped her arms forward. “Hold onto something!” she yelled. A localized, roaring tornado tore through the corridor, ripping the heavy steel doors off their hinges and launching the approaching soldiers backward, smashing them into the concrete walls.

Meanwhile, several glass cells shattered from the collateral damage, releasing feral, mutated zombies into the room. A massive, bio-engineered undead beast lunged straight at Kailee.

“Kailee, duck!” Glacier shouted, intercepting the monster. With a violent stamp of his foot, Glacier unleashed his ice power, sending a jagged wave of permafrost racing across the floor. “Freeze, you ugly bastard!” The ice crawled up the beast’s legs, instantly freezing it solid into a pristine, rigid statue. Glacier then shattered it into a thousand frozen pieces with a single icy blast. “You good?”

“Yeah, thanks Glacier!” Kailee panted, shaking off the adrenaline.

Joanna moved like a force of nature, keeping her eyes on the prize. “Keep pushing, team! Don’t let up!” Using her teleportation, she blinked around the battlefield in micro-seconds, a blur of motion. She appeared directly in front of a heavy gun emplacement. “Let me borrow this,” she

muttered. Using her super strength, she ripped the massive, mounted machine gun right off its steel base with her bare hands. She swung the heavy metal weapon like a baseball bat, shattering a reinforced brick pillar and crushing three soldiers instantly beneath the debris.

“To the armory! Move!” Joanna shouted.
