Chapter 327 Kailee Deals With Megan

Safe inside Joanna’s spatial paradise, the team gathered tightly around the visual rift, their eyes locked on the chaotic street scene playing out below. Bloodfang soldiers scrambled blindly in every direction, their frantic shouts swallowed by the deafening wail of the base sirens.

Suddenly, the heavy doors of the white brick building burst open. Jax, Elliot, and Megan stormed out into the biting cold. Jax forcefully grabbed a panicked soldier by the collar, snarling for an immediate update. Through the rift, the team listened intently as the soldier stammered that heavy gunfire had just rocked the subterranean levels, the main security hub was completely compromised, and every single surveillance monitor had gone completely black.

Elliot spun toward Jax, his face draining of all color. “Maybe whoever killed Alice did this?”

Megan swallowed hard, her chest heaving as she gripped her fur-lined coat. “The data… is it there?”

“We don’t know yet,” Jax roared, a suffocating wave of pure, murderous intent exploding off his body. The surrounding guards visibly recoiled from the sheer pressure of his anger. He glared at the smoking vents of the bunker before barking out his commands. “Megan, you go to the side entrance to try and get any data recovery. Elliot and I need to check the tunnels for the weapons. Luckily, we still have another stash of weapons.”

Inside the safety of the storage space, Joanna’s eyes narrowed into a dangerous glare. “Pfft. I had hoped we would have crippled them.”

Caleb leaned forward from his chair, a confident, knowing smile spreading across his face. “Oh you did! They will need several months before they come after you. You did good, boss!”

Kailee, however, wasn’t celebrating. Her gaze was locked entirely on her cousin, tracking Megan as she broke away from the main group and bolted toward the secondary entrance of the complex. Seeing the cold resolve burning in Kailee’s eyes, Joanna didn’t waste a single heartbeat. With a swift, seamless expansion of her spatial energy, she teleported herself and Kailee out of her space, materializing like absolute ghosts right in front of the side door just as Megan and her two-man escort arrived.

Before the guards could even register the shift in the air, Kailee slammed both palms forward. A massive, concussive air pulse erupted from her hands like a sonic boom, blasting the two men off their feet and sending them crashing hard into the frozen dirt. In a fraction of a second, Joanna closed the distance. Her sleek, razor-sharp sickle sword flashed through the shadows twice-two blinding, lethal arcs that silenced both guards permanently before they could even draw their weapons.

Megan gasped, stumbling back into the snow banks as she looked up and recognized the two figures standing over the fresh corpses. “Kailee?!” she shrieked, her initial shock instantly

“Not just alive, Megan,” Kailee said, stepping forward. Her voice was steady, icy, and completely stripped of the childhood fear she had carried for so many years.

“I should have broken you when we were kids!” Megan screamed in a manic, jealous rage. She violently thrust her hands toward the earth, unleashing her elemental power. The frozen ground groaned and splintered apart as a jagged, spear-like shard of concrete ripped out of the permafrost, rocketing straight for Kailee’s chest.

Kailee didn’t even blink. With a casual, arrogant flick of her wrist, she manifested a howling shield of compressed, rotating wind. The massive concrete projectile slammed into the invisible vortex and was instantly pulverized into a harmless cloud of dust.

Kailee let out a sharp, mocking laugh that cut through the whistling wind. “Is your power only level 2? I am not the same weak girl you can bully any more.”

She took a slow, predatory step forward, the storm howling violently around her boots. Megan’s eyes dilated with sudden, paralyzing terror as the reality of the massive power gap finally crashed down on her. Desperately, she tried to summon another defensive wall of earth, but Kailee was already finished playing.

With a fierce, downward sweep of her arms, Kailee unleashed a relentless barrage of invisible, razor-sharp vacuum blades.
