Chapter 98 Load up with whatever you want

With the immediate threat neutralized, Joanna turned on her heel and glided back through the service door into the rear room of the pet store. The survivors jumped, their faces instantly flooded with relief as they saw her walking back unharmed and completely unfazed.

With a smooth wave of her hand, she reached into her storage space and pulled out three large, heavy-duty nylon duffle bags, tossing them to her crew. She locked eyes with her core team and began rattling off orders with military precision.

“Jake. RJ, and Allen-get these people some weapons for the trip,” Joanna commanded, gesturing toward the adjoining warehouse doors. “We will be leaving for the police station in exactly twenty minutes. Once they grab whatever weapons they can comfortably carry, lead them outside. I have the van parked nearby.”

She then turned her gaze directly to Beckah, Ryan, and the rest of the frightened civilians. “The world outside has completely changed. You need to grab whatever supplies you can right now while you still have the chance. Fill your arms.”

Finally, she looked back at her own crew. “The rest of you, use these bags and start packing up this store for me. Box up the premium pet food, the medical supplies, everything.”

Her team gave quick, knowing nods, falling into line immediately. They didn’t question the order for a second. They all knew the duffle bags and the elaborate packing directive were just a clever cover story for the civilians’ benefit. The moment the ten survivors were safely escorted out the door and their backs were turned, Joanna would drop the act and sweep the entire three-store complex clean into her storage space in a matter of seconds.

Jake stepped forward, cracking his knuckles as he looked at the plant and outdoor store workers. “Alright, you heard the boss. Let’s go pick out some hardware and gear. Follow me.”

Inside the Outdoor storefront Jake pointed to a row of tactical backpacks. “Grab those,” he grunted to the survivors. “Load them up with whatever you want. Fifteen minutes max.”

RJ stepped in to guide the panicked civilians, helping them grab camping meal packs, firestarters, jerky, and high-calorie snacks. She even split the contents of the drink cooler among them. RJ knew these supplies were likely their only real chance of surviving the weeks ahead.

Meanwhile, Joanna ran out into the rear loading alley with Julian. “Watch the perimeter,” she ordered. “Load the survivors up the second they step out.” With a wave of her hand, she pulled a large transport van and a utility truck directly out of her storage space, parking them in the dark alley.

Leaving Julian with the vehicles, Joanna darted into the adjoining gardening center. With a series of sweeping gestures, every gardening tool, bag of soil, and seed rack vanished into her inventory. Spotting three rows of large potted trees, she swept them up too, not caring what species they were. As she walked past the final decimated rack, a packet of asparagus seeds caught her eye. She grabbed it with an amused smile-a little inside joke for Julian.

With the gardening store picked bone-clean, Joanna slipped back into the pet store. Her team was still diligently filling the three nylon duffle bags near the front to keep up appearances.

Starting from the very back of the showroom, Joanna began a systematic wipe. Racks of premium dog and cat food disappeared into her pocket dimension. In her dreams of the future, pet food became a high-end luxury ration in survivor camps. When fresh meat vanished, people traded a fortune for nutrient-dense

kibble. She was going to ensure her group held all the cards.

cam efficiently loaded the filled duffle bags into the back of the newly summoned van, while Allen and Uncle Nate guided the ten survivors into the passenger seats, making sure everyone was securely buckled in.

With the civilians occupied, Joanna finally crossed over into the massive outdoor recreation warehouse, She stood in the center of the illuminated showroom, her gaze sweeping over the endless racks of heavy-duty sleeping bags, freeze-dried meal packs, high-caliber hunting rifles, and tactical knives.

This is the ultimate apocalypse one-stop shop, Joanna thought with a thrill of satisfaction.
