Chapter 713 A Venomous Accusation
Hudson still couldn’t make sense of what was happening.
Where did everything go wrong?
I checked Alex myself. He really was dead.
Unless…
Hudson suddenly looked up at Ernie. “Suspended animation!”

Ernie said coldly, “If exposing you required my son to die, then so be it. But he was never going to die for nothing. And you were never worth that price.”
Steven watched the scene calmly.
He’d already guessed parts of the truth. He knew Alan had been planning something, and he’d known Alex shouldn’t have died that easily.
He just hadn’t expected them to fool everyone for the sake of the plan.
They had even fooled Alex’s own mother.
They’d used the conflict between Alex and Alan as the starting point, deliberately making their feud seem worse than it really was.
All so they could lure Hudson into exposing himself.
Steven had to admit, it was a smart move. If they wanted to fool a snake hiding in the shadows, the fewer people who knew the truth, the better.
Steven’s thoughts shifted. The God Eaters might have been infiltrating Draconia for years, but Draconia clearly wasn’t full of fools. There were still people quietly working behind the scenes to fight back.
That meant Draconia hadn’t completely rotted from within. There was still hope.
Hudson laughed.
“Ernie, that was one ruthless game you played. You started setting this up that far back?
“You must’ve started before Alan even left Orroux, didn’t you?
“You deliberately transferred Alan away to make everyone believe the two of them had truly fallen out, right?”
Ernie clearly had no intention of explaining.
There was no reason to.
Ernie snorted. “Stop trying to figure it out. Today, you die.”
Hudson seemed trapped.

After all, Draconia’s side now had two Seven-Sigil Divine Lords, Ernie and Greyson, along with numerous Divine Kings and possibly even heavy weapons.
Hudson shook his head with a smile. “It’s a little early to decide who dies.
“I knew the moment I used my full strength that I’d be exposed. But being exposed doesn’t mean I’m going to die.
“There’s just one thing I still don’t understand.
“By my calculations, even if you suspected me, I also knew your resignation was meant to lure me out. But I don’t believe you could’ve found proof against me this quickly. If your original plan had played out normally, it should’ve taken you at least several more years to expose me.
“So what changed? What made you accelerate the plan? Or what mistake did I make that gave me away?”
Ernie still didn’t answer. He had no intention of revealing something like that.
Hudson smiled. “You don’t have to tell me. I can probably guess.
“It was because of that kid, wasn’t it?”
As he spoke, Hudson turned his gaze toward Steven.
Invisible pressure descended instantly.
Steven narrowed his eyes.
Hudson stared at him.
“So what exposed me? Something you noticed about me? Thousand Shadows? Or someone else?”
Steven had no intention of revealing the truth either. Some things were always better left hidden.
Steven said coldly, “Does it matter anymore? You’re already dead. What good would the truth do you?”
Hudson snorted. “My mistake was not killing you sooner!
“I spent decades being careful, only to lose because of a nobody like
you.
“But there’s something almost funny about it. Draconia’s Awakened love to claim they’ll never coexist with beasts, yet you possess such powerful beast energy yourself. So what does that make you?
“When you get down to it, you’re not that different from me. I even suspect some demon lord chose you as his successor.
“How ridiculous. Truly ridiculous. In the end, I lost to one of our own.”
Steven’s expression darkened.
This bastard is trying to ruin me!
Ernie and the others were briefly stunned. What does he mean?

Steven has beast energy?
Hudson sneered, “Looks like you didn’t know either, Ernie.

“Then let me explain. As long as I didn’t reveal my Divine Lord power inside my Divine-Sealed Domain, you never would’ve been able to locate me.
