Chapter 139 Just You And No One
Natalie’s POV
I turned away, facing the bed, trying to hide the heat rising to my face.
Baron stood before me, forcing my face towards him.
His touch sent sparks across my skin, and the voice in my head purred.

I responded, my voice still a little raspy, “Plenty of women would kill to be your Luna, Baron. You could have a different Luna for every day of the week if you wanted.”
He didn’t even blink.
He stepped closer, the heat from his body reaching me before he even touched me. “I don’t want anyone else… just you.”
His hand wandered again, sliding up my back making my skin tingle despite my best efforts to remain annoyed.
I slapped it away, glaring at him.
*I’m tired, quit messing around. Raze might have infinite stamina, but I’m still human.”
I turned and moved to the sofa, sinking into the soft velvet with a sigh of relief.
Baron casually poured a glass of warm water from the carafe and handed it to me.
“Drink some warm water… it’s good for your recovery,” he murmured.
I looked at the glass, then up at him, unimpressed. “You sound just like a doctor.”
Though I grumbled, I still accepted the glass. The water was the perfect temperature, soothing my parched throat.
I drank it all down, feeling his eyes on me.
For a moment, Baron’s eyes flickered, and his lips parted slightly as if he wanted to say something but in the end, he remained
silent.
I could feel a sense of uneasiness radiating through the bond… he was hiding something
‘He is… I can sense a secret. Nyx suddenly said, making me jump but quickly caught myself.
I tried to play it cool but he stared at me with a worried look.
I needed to tell him about her but how?
Who is she and how come I suddenly have a wolf?
It makes more sense now that I know that I’m part wolf but why now?
I swallowed the questions down with the water.
Whatever he was hiding….

I would get it out of him.
Just not yet.
I dropped the bottle and he immediately signaled the staff.
Within minutes, a lavish breakfast was brought in.
“Eat while we talk,” he commanded, though his tone was gentle.
I glanced at the spread.
Smoked salmon, fresh fruit, the specific bread I liked, and honey from the high ridges.
He had remembered every single preference I’d shown over the last few months.
“It doesn’t matter whether we separate or not,” I said, picking up a fork and looking at him seriously. “We’re mated; the mark on my neck isn’t fake. The kids are ours and there’s no reason for the four of us to split up just because I’m heading back to the battlefield. As for what other people think… that’s not something I can control.“.
I thought of Jensen.
My lips curled in a mocking smile.
Let the world talk… let Jensen see the woman he discarded standing beside a king.
Hearing my words, Baron’s brows and eyes softened into a genuine smile. The tension finally cleared.
“Mm, I think you’re right. I’ll have the private jet prepared and we’ll go as a family. I’ll let Shauna come along to manage the household.”
“Bring Yvonne too,” I added as I lowered my voice.
“My test results with Yvonne show we’re cousins,” I explained. “I suspect she’s Uncle Xenon’s child… the one who was supposed to have died in that car accident twenty years ago.”
Baron raised a brow, his interest piqued. “Do you have proof?”
I shook my head.
“No. But I don’t think Uncle Xenon was that stupid. If he was smart enough to switch me at birth, he would have known he was at a
loose end.”
“So, you think he swapped the child beforehand to save her. Yvonne may very well be his daughter, hidden in plain sight.”
Baron placed some sautéed vegetables into my bowl, his expression thoughtful.
“Whether she is or isn’t, let your family deal with the fallout once we’re in Ocean City. But you’re right… now that Yvonne is effectively my sister–in–law, there’s no reason to let anyone bully her. Fine, we’ll take her back with us.”
I looked at the vegetables in my bowl and frowned.
I really didn’t want to eat them.

I wanted the bacon.
But judging by Baron’s watchful expression, if I refused, he might actually pick up the chopsticks and feed me himself in front of the guards.
With a sigh, I forced myself to eat them.
Baron’s lips curved into a faint, victorious smile.
“I need to head back to the library later,” I said, switching to business. “There are some books I saw earlier that I need to check out…”
I need to do more research concerning the Stone pack… if my parents are wolves then how can I be a scribe?
And who was the voice in my head?
Baron set down his chopsticks gracefully, picked up a linen napkin, and wiped his hands with an elegance that didn’t match his dangerous persona.
“What books do you need? I can get people to bring them to the room.”
“Huh?” I froze, my fork halfway to my mouth.
