Jensen’s POV
Cairn was curled in a dark corner of my mind with a visceral disgust that mirrored my own.
‘Stupid human… Cairn rambled on in my head, insulting and cursing at me.
I hated myself at this exact moment.
To me, the entire situation was downright nauseating.
Sharon was pregnant.
The woman who had been caught in a scandal with a beggar, the woman who had poisoned her own mother, was now the vessel for my lineage.
My stomach churned at the thought of the pup – my pup – growing inside someone so fundamentally corrupt.
“Hansel,” I barked, my voice cracking the silence of the car. “The night of the incident at the villa. The morning–after pill. I want the truth.”
Hansel didn’t look surprised.
I had mentioned it earlier.
He had also anticipated that Sharon might pull a stunt, and as a map of meticulous detail, he had already arranged for the high- definition surveillance footage of the master suite as a precaution,
He pulled a tablet from his briefcase, the blue light reflecting in his focused eyes.
“I already began the pull, Alpha. Hearing your suspicion at the hospital, I had the technical team prioritize the bedroom and ensuite feeds from that night.”
He tapped the screen and handed it to me.
The video was crystal clear.
Each movement was undeniable.
I watched myself on the screen, looking weary and burdened, handing Sharon the glass of water and the white pill.
I watched her take it, her expression one of tearful obedience.
I saw Hansel standing by the door, witnessing the act.
Then, I watched the moment we both turned our backs..
Sharon’s expression shifted instantly.
The tears vanished, replaced by a cold smile.
She didn’t swallow.

The moment the door clicked shat behind us, she leaned over the bedside wastebasket and spat the small white tablet out.
She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, a small, triumphant smirk crossing her lips before she lay back down to play the victim.
My temple throbbed, the veins bulging against the skin.
A low, guttural snarl vibrated in my head.
‘How would you not notice that… you’re a fucking idiot.’ Cairn growled again but I ignored him.
So, from the very start, she had planned this.
She had planned to trap me, to chain me to her forever by carrying my child.
Disgust hit me like a physical wave, as if I had just swallowed something foul and felt it curdling in my gut.
And once again, my thoughts went to Natalie.
I had dated her for five years.
Yet, in all that time, Natalie had never once schemed against me.
“Hansel,” I muttered, my voice strained with a jagged, desperate pain. “Print out all my chat logs with Natalie. Every single one from the last five years.”
Hansel froze, his hand hovering over his tablet. “Alpha Jensen?”
“Look through them,” I commanded, my eyes fixed on the dark road ahead. “Look for anything where she said she transcribed those archives to help me. Look for phrases like ‘for your success,‘ or ‘to help you establish yourself at the pack.‘ If she ever said she was doing it for my sake, for our future, highlight it.”
Hansel’s scent flared with a sharp, stinging shock.
“Alpha… you’re planning to move against Natalie? You want to use her private words to deny her the income she earned?”
“How could I bear to hurt her?” I snapped, my wolf Cairn baring his teeth at the suggestion. “I just don’t want to sever ali ties! Don’t
you understand?”
