Jensen’s POV

My palm slammed against the tinted window of the SUV hard enough to sting.

I didn’t care.

Natalie.

Her parents were inside that vehicle and If I could just speak to them… if could just explain myself…

“Luna. Alpha!”

My voice echoed across the driveway.

“I am Jensen!”

I pressed closer to the window, trying desperately to see through the dark glass.

“I was Natalie’s boyfriend! The man she loved for five years!”

My chest tightened.

“Please. Let me speak with you.”

The words had barely left my mouth when the atmosphere around me changed.

The shift was immediate as I felt it before I saw it.

Every instinct I possessed screamed at me to move.

Slowly, I turned to see Baron staring at me.

The expression on his face made my stomach knot.

There was no smile, standing before me now was something colder.

“Jensen.”

My name left his mouth like a warning.

“I think you’ve forgotten where you’re standing.”

I forced myself to straighten and meet his gaze.

“Natalie was mine first.”

The words came out harsher than intended.

But I didn’t take them back… I couldn’t.

Because every time I saw him beside her, every time I imagined him holding her hand, sleeping beside her, laughing with her, something inside me felt like it was being torn apart.

The look in Baron’s eyes darkened, then he moved.

One second he was standing several feet away, the next, his hand was wrapped around my collar.

The world flipped upside down.

Before I could react, my feet left the ground and my entire body was hurled through the air.

Pain exploded across my back as I crashed into the gravel.

The impact knocked the breath from my lungs.

Then realization hit.

The SUV surged forward.

The collision sounded like a bomb going off.

My sedan lurched sideways as though it weighed nothing.

I watched in stunned disbelief as the front end crumpled inward and the entire vehicle was shoved across the driveway before plunging nose–first into the drainage ditch.

For several seconds, I simply stared.

My mind refused to process what had happened, then Baron accelerated again.

This time, directly toward me.

My blood ran cold.

He was trying to hit me… like actually hit me.

I threw myself sideways just as the SUV tore across the gravel.

The bumper missed me by inches

The rush of air slammed into my face.

Mud splashed across my clothes as I hit the ground and rolled

By the time I managed to lift my head, gasping for breath, the vehicle was already disappearing into the estate.

The red glow of its taillights vanished into the darkness.

A second later, the security gates closed behind it.

Leaving me alone outside like an unwanted stray.

For several long moments, I couldn’t move.

I just knelt there in the dirt, covered in mud and blood.

I yanked my phone from my pocket and called Hansel.

He answered immediately.

“That bastard just rammed my car into a ditch!”

I began pacing across the gravel.

My breathing was ragged.

“He did it right in front of them.”

The words tasted bitter.

“Right in front of Natalie’s parents.”
