Chapter 61 Let’s Go Meet Mommy
Chapter 61 Let’s Go Meet Mommy
Baron’s POV
“Susie! Daddy’s here!” Sean’s voice echoed through the marble halls.
Upstairs, the sound of a blanket being kicked aside followed the frantic patter of small, bare feet.

Susie appeared at the top of the stairs, her hair a messy gold halo like her mother’s, her eyes still clouded with sleep.
“Where’s Daddy?” she asked, her voice syrupy and sweet, that sound could melt the armor off. chest.

Sean, ever the vigilant older brother, frowned immediately. “Why aren’t you wearing shoes again? Grandpa Butler!”
The old butler appeared carrying a pair of plush bunny slippers.
Sean didn’t wait for the man to act; he snatched the slippers and knelt before his sister, carefully guiding her feet into them.
It was a sight that made my chest tighten, a four–year–old playing the role of protector because he knew his father was never around.
She looked past Sean, her face lighting up with a dimpled smile.
She was perfect, in fact too perfect for the world I lived in.
Raze yipped in my head.
“Where is he?” she asked again, her gaze searching.
“He’s outside,” Sean answered, a hint of annoyance in his voice.
The moment the words left his lips, Susie tore off toward the terrace.
“Slow down! You’ll trip! Baron isn’t going anywhere!”
“Don’t talk about Daddy like that!” Susie puffed her cheeks, then spotted me standing near the edge of the staircase.
“Daddy!”
She flung herself at me as I bent quickly, catching her small, fragile frame in one effortless motion. I swept her up, and she immediately pressed her soft, warm face against my neck.
“Daddy. I missed you so much! Did you miss me?”
“Yes,” I whispered, the word feeling heavy in my throat.

In this enclosed island, I’m no longer an Alpha or even the witch doctor… I’m just a father who loves his children.
Sean didn’t fight for attention this time; he stood back, watching us with an intensity that felt far too old for his age.
On this island, he was the man of the house… he took the role of being the “big brother” with a serious dedication.
He wandered over to the pile of gifts I’d brought–high–tech toys and books. He poked at them with an unexplainable expression.
I saw him lean close to the butler and whisper, “Grandpa Butler… did Daddy come alone this time?”
“Yes, Master Sean.”
I saw the light in Sean’s eyes dim, and disappointment took over, making a part of my heart tighten.
“Daddy, did you eat breakfast?” Sean asked, his tone shifting.
I blinked… I had picked at a plate on the yacht, but I couldn’t remember the taste of it.
“Not yet. Butler, prepare the table. I’ll eat with them today.”
“Yes, sir.”
“Yes,
I carried Susie into the lounge, but as I walked, I caught the slight movement of Sean’s shadow in the corner of my eye.
He wasn’t following us… He was heading toward the North Wing–the wing that held my private studio. The room I had forbidden them to enter.
I didn’t stop him; I wanted to see how far his “strategy” would take him.
Minutes later, while Susie was busy telling me about a lizard she’d found, I felt a buzz in my pockets… a notification popped up on my phone.
So, he cracked the code… I felt a surge of pride, mixed with concern.
He was growing too fast.
He had used the powder method; I could smell the faint scent of the medical talcum he must have swiped earlier. He was probably inside the room now looking at her face.
The room contained hundreds of portraits I had painted to keep her spirit alive while she was far away.
I let him have his moment… I let him meet the mother I had stolen from him.
When I finished my tea with Susie, I went upstairs to check on him but found him sitting on his bed,

grinning like a fool at his phone screen, mumbling to himself.
“Sean. what are you doing?”

He jerked upright, his eyes wide with a momentary flash of panic. He shoved the phone behind his back, his voice cracking as he tried to play it cool. “N–nothing! I was… watching videos. About lizards.”
“Less screen time. It’s bad for your eyes,” I said, stepping into the room. I could smell the faint scent of the talcum powder on him, but I chose to ignore it.
“Come down for breakfast, and after we eat, I’m taking you and Susie off this island. It’s time to go to my pack… It’s time to see your mommy.”
“Really?”
He scrambled off the bed, bounced on his heels, his eyes searching mine for any sign of a lie. “Daddy, you’re a man… you have to keep your word. Otherwise, you’re a puppy!”
I flicked his nose. “Alright. I keep my word.”
The breakfast that followed was the liveliest I’ve ever been in.
Susie giggled at everything, her dimples flashing brightly, while Sean shoveled food into his mouth like he was in a competition. He acted as if every calorie was a step closer to Natalie.
Across the table, the old butler’s expression was heavy. He had been with these children since the day I brought them here in secret.
“Sir,” he said softly, “perhaps my wife and I should come along. We know their habits… the way Master Sean needs his blankets tucked, the way Miss Susie needs her bath… Servants elsewhere won’t know.”
I looked at the twins; they were moving into a world of wolves and fire. They needed the only stability they’d ever known… I nodded. “Fine. Pack what you need. You’re coming.”
“Yay!” Susie clapped her hands. “I like Grandpa Butler and Grandma together!”
An hour later, we stood on the deck of the yacht.
Bringing them to the mainland meant exposing them. It meant more enemies, more risk, and more blood if I failed to protect them.
