Chapter 191

The Seattle police station buzzed with activity, but all I could focus on was the pure tage emanating from Sebastian. His normally impeccable appearance had crumbled—tie loosened, hair disheveled, eyes wild with fury as he paced the small holding area.
I felt a cold determination settle over me, knowing I had to protect Kate and her babies no matter the cost.
“Eric, that woman is carrying my triplets!” Sebastian’s voice boomed across the room, making several officers glance our way. “Stone family triplets! I have the right to take her home!”
1 froze. How did Sebastian know?
“Lower your voice,” Eric commanded. “This isn’t pack territory.”
Adalyn stepped forward, her designer heels clicking against the linoleum floor. “Are you really taking sides against your own family, Eric? Helping outsiders against Stone interests?”
The accusation hung heavy in the air–a clear implication of betrayal.
Eric shook his head, his jaw tightening. “I’m more concerned about the pregnant woman and her babies. Kate’s triplet pregnancy is already high–risk. Your violent actions today could have caused a miscarriage.”
“You can’t possibly keep us here,” Adalyn hissed, adjusting her pearls with perfectly manicured fingers. “We demand to be released immediately.”
“Not happening,” Eric replied, pulling out his phone. “I’m calling the family elders to report

With calm deliberation, I pulled out my phone and opened the medical monitoring app I’d set up for Kate. I turned the screen toward Sebastian and Adalyn.
Take a look at these values,” I said coldly. “Your actions have already caused fetal heart rate instability. Does the Stone family want healthy heirs or just the satisfaction of punishing the Gray family?”
Adalyn’s lips curled into a sneer. “You think those miracle drugs of the ridiculously overpriced treatment for Mrs. Stone!”

Ah. So that was it. The truth finally emerged.
“So that’s what this is really about?” I laughed without humor. “You don’t want to pay for Mrs. Stone’s treatments anymore, so you thought you’d kidnap Kate and control everything yourselves?”

Devon placed a steadying hand on my lower back as I continued, Consider our arrangement terminated. I will no longer provide medical services to the Stone family. You’ve violated both the non–aggression pact between our packs and your personal promises.”
Eric’s face fell, ‘But my grandmother has made tremendous progress. She needs the final treatments to fully recover…” He shot an accumatary glance at Adalyn. ‘She’s been saying the treatment costs are too high and wanted to end the protocol… but I’ll pay. I’ll cover everything. Please don’t stop her
treatment.”
I’ll consider continuing Mrs. Stone’s treatment specifically, I conceded. ‘But that’s all.”
Outside the police station, Devon pulled Sebastian aside as the officers prepared to process his overnight detention.
“If you ever come near Evelyn or Kate again,” Devon growled, his voice barely above a whisper, “Hall Enterprises will terminate all partnerships with Stone Industries. Including the joint defense agreement protecting your northern territory borders.”
Sebastian paled slightly. The northern territory defense was crucial–without Hall support, smaller packs would start encroaching within months.
“Devon, Eric interjected, his expression grave. “I understand your position, but the Stone family elders don’t support Sebastian’s actions. This was his and Adalyn’s personal vendetta.”
He lowered his voice. “My grandmother knows about this incident. She’s furious. She respects the debt we owe Evelyn for curing her and insists on paying the full treatment costs, despite Adalyn’s interference.”
As we drove toward the Gray mansion, I stared out the window at the passing buildings. The afternoon sun cast long shadows across the streets of Seattle.
“Marcus will need treatment for his injuries,” I murmured. “I have the right herbs at home.”
Devon nodded silently, giving me space with my thoughts.
At the mansion, Kate waited in the sunroom, her hands protectively cradling her belly.
“I don’t want to go to the Stone family,” she confessed, tears welling in her eyes. “Sebastian doesn’t love me. He only cares about what the babies can do for
his status.”
I sighed, setting down my medical bag. Devon stood quietly by the door, giving us sisters space to be alone.
“Kate, you’re carrying triplets. That’s incredibly dangerous for female werewolves. Each baby has different genetic markers. Your uterus is showing signs of rejection.”
