Chapter 163
Inside the private room.
Alicia had driven over to pick up Jason, and the two of them arrived together.
Patrick couldn’t help but be surprised when he saw Alicia pushing Jason’s wheelchair into the room.
He really hadn’t expected their relationship to have become this comfortable with each other.
Jason’s wheelchair was obviously a state–of–the–art, self–operating model.
With his personality, he’d never let anyone push him unless he really trusted them.
But Alicia was pushing him so naturally, it was clear this wasn’t their first time–by now, it must be second nature to them.
Back in school, the two of them never got along, all because of Nicolas and his friends.
Landon smiled and greeted them, “Hey, you’re here.”
He stood up and offered his hand to Jason. “Mr. Farrell, I’ve been looking forward to meeting you for a long time!”
They’d gone to the same school, but Jason was a year ahead of them.
Plus, he was famous for being cold and distant, so they’d never really interacted.
But these past few years, Landon had heard his name more than a few times.
Jason was known overseas as the guy with the Midas touch–every company he invested in just blew up overnight.
Even after the accident put him in a wheelchair, he still managed to take over Lucent Media and turn it into a powerhouse. And the fact that he’d publicly clashed with the Farrell family? That was something Landon genuinely admired.
After all, he was still quietly building up his strength to take on the Hayes family, while Jason was already going toe–to–toe with the Farrells.
Jason reached out and shook his hand. “Hey, Mr. Hayes!”
The three of them ordered a bunch of dishes and chatted while they ate.
Landon said he wanted to join Lucent Media, and Jason welcomed him aboard.
All Landon needed to do was drop by Lucent Media tomorrow to sign the contract.
Then they started talking about the new script.
Landon looked at Alicia and said, “It’s a historical drama, but with a scheming female lead at the center of all the political intrigue. I think it’s right up your alley.”
He pulled a file folder out of his bag and handed it to her. “I brought the script. Take a look and see if it interests you.”
Alicia took it and opened it. “Let me check it out.”
As she started reading, Landon and Jason shifted to talking about work.

They even started talking about teaming up for a sci–fi movie.
Jason’s investment could bring in top–notch special effects tech, and Landon had even put in the work to master the ins and outs of filming sci–fi.
Alicia flipped through the script quickly. “This is great. I’m in!”
This was the real deal–a genuine power–play drama with a female lead, not just some romance pretending to be about a strong woman.
In her previous life, Alicia had never starred in this show. It looked like Landon had prepared it especially for her comeback.
Landon chuckled. “I knew you’d take it.”
He added, “I heard Caleb’s historical drama is about to start filming. If we move fast, we can launch ours around the same time and really battle it out.”
Now that he was back, Landon was determined to take on Hayes Entertainment head–on.
Caleb’s historical drama was a huge investment, an S+ project for Hayes Entertainment. The female lead was already set as Nicole, and while the male lead hadn’t been officially announced, odds were it’d be Nicolas.
The first thing that popped into Landon’s mind when he saw this script was that it could go head–to–head with Caleb’s show.
And with her looks and presence, Alicia was the perfect choice for the female lead.
Alicia chuckled. “That’s exactly what I was thinking.”
Back in her previous life, Caleb’s historical drama didn’t face any real competition during its run, and the script was pretty solid.
Nicole’s acting was just so–so, but Nicolas was a pro and had a massive fanbase. The second male lead was a rising star with a strong online following, and with Starlight Entertainment’s killer marketing, the show became a massive hit.
