Chapter 207
Nicole felt so miserable
She wiped her tears and said. ‘I’m just feeling hurt by the way Niendes treated me I want waiting by before I started crying
Jett thought for a moment and said. “He’s just being desperate, you know? Look at Abra chasing after her
If you ask me, you should ignore him too. He might just come looking for you himself
Honestly, anyone can tell he cares about you. He’s just pretending not to care
Nicole figured Jett actually made some sense, but there was no way she’d admit that with the stream will rolling
She quickly switched gears. “I’ll go make dinner.
Jett, can you help me wash and chop the veggies?”
It had been ages since she’d washed or chopped any veggies herself.
Jett blinked, pointing at himself. “Me? Wash and chop veggies? I’ve never done that before.”
Nicole reassured him, ‘It’s not hard at all. You’ll get the hang of it once you start.
Jett grinned. “Alright, but I need to hit the bathroom first. You start washing, and I’ll help when I get back.”
And with that, he made a quick escape.
Nicole was speechless.
Honestly, I can’t count on any of these three. So freaking frustrating,’ she thought, feeling totally fed up.
Time was running late, and Nicole could smell the food wafting down from upstairs.
Clearly, the other team had already started cooking.
She felt another wave of tears coming, feeling totally put upon.
But with the live stream still on, she couldn’t break down or just quit.
So she just started washing the veggies.
Washing the veggies was easy, and since there weren’t many ingredients to begin with, she brushed up in no time
Then she started chopping.
(I thought Nicole was supposed to be a good cook, but watching her chop is kinda hard to watch.
[Yeah, her tofu chunks are all over the place. You can tell she’s not used to this
[Now I’m really starting to doubt she had it so rough growing up)
[Yeah, Alicia, the real heiress next door, is way better at chopping than she is.
After finishing the tofu. Nicole moved on to the cured pork.
Not only were her slices way too thick, but halfway through, she accidentally cut her finger.
She couldn’t help but yelp. “Ah!”
She quickly tossed the knife onto the cutting board and bolted out of the kitchen.
Just then, Nicole spotted Caleb and the other two as they walked back in from outside
Tears burst out as she showed them her hand, sobbing, “I cut my finger, and it’s bleeding!”
Caleb and the others had no words.
‘Come on, it’s just a little scratch, and she’s making such a big deal out of it, they thought.
Suddenly, they all felt utterly drained.
Jett’s eyes darted as he turned to Nicolas. “Hey, Nicolas, why don’t you help Nicole out and suck the blood off her finger
Soon enough, Caleb came back with a band-aid.
After Nicole put the band-aid on.
Jett said, “Nicole, hurry up and get back to cooking. I’m starving!”
Caleb chimed in, “Same here! Nicole, could you pick up the pace? The smell from upstairs is killing me
Nicolas didn’t say a word, but the look he gave Nicole made it clear he was just as hungry.
Nicole just wanted to drop everything and walk away.
‘Seriously, are these guys all just typical dense dudes?
‘My hand’s hurt and they still expect me to cook? Do they even know how to show a little sympathy to a girl?” she complained inwardly.
She softened her voice, acting all cute. “My hand hurts. I can’t chop veggies anymore.”
Jett gave her hand a quick look. “It’s just a tiny cut. I know you can tough it out.”
Caleb added, “Yeah, Nicole, you’ll be fine. Hurry up and get back to cooking.”
Nicole fell silent.
‘Man, these guys are the absolute worst. No wonder they’re both single. Unbelievable.’
She couldn’t help but glance at Nicolas, hoping maybe he’d actually step up for once.
But Nicolas was even more dense. “Why are you looking at me? I don’t even know how to cook.”
With an annoyed look, he added, “Just hurry up, if you don’t get moving, the other team upstairs will be done eating before we even sit down.”
Nicole was totally speechless.
‘I seriously shouldn’t have expected anything from this jerk.
