Once they reached the bottom of the slope, Alicia brushed the dust off her clothes.

Seeing Jett all covered in dirt and grimacing in pain, Alicia raised an eyebrow. “If I hadn’t grabbed you and gone down with you, your whole performance would’ve been wasted.”

‘He definitely did that on purpose just to get away from the cameras and everyone else, Alicia thought.

Hearing her words, Jett sat on the ground and raised an eyebrow back at her. “No wonder you’re Alicia. You catch on fast.”

Alicia crossed her arms and looked at him. “Alright, spill it. What are you really up to?”

Jett let out a light laugh. “Why so impatient?”

Alicia rolled her eyes. “We’re not exactly friends, so don’t expect me to be patient with you.”

Jett’s mouth twitched. “You’re getting more and more straightforward.”

He held out his arm to Alicia and sighed. “Just see for yourself. I can’t put it into words.”

Alicia got what he meant, sat down next to him, and carefully checked his pulse.

She realized that this time, his inner conflict was even worse than before. “I’ll need to use a few needles to really figure out what’s going on.”

Jett just lay back and said, “Go ahead, do whatever you need.”

Alicia felt a bit exasperated, but she took off her bracelet, flipped a switch, and poured out a few sterilized gold needles.

She placed them into several key acupoints on his body.

After about three minutes, she checked his pulse again, and her face showed clear surprise.

“You’ve been drugged, and someone hit you with a psychological suggestion,” she said.

Now she finally understood why his inner struggle was so intense.

He was using sheer willpower to fight against the psychological suggestion and control.
