Chapter 241
Chapter 241
Jett’s face broke into a wide grin.
He let out a sigh. “All these years, and you’re the only one who ever saw through me.”
It was a relief that only Alicia had figured out he was just putting on an act.
Alicia had pieced it together bit by bit, drawing on what she remembered from her previous life and watching Jett’s actions this time around.
Alicia glanced at Jett. “We don’t have much time. I’ll keep asking, you keep answering.”
The crew was probably already coming down the slope to rescue them—she needed to get her questions in before they showed up.
Jett nodded. “Alright, ask away.”
Alicia asked, “Is someone keeping an eye on you?”
‘Otherwise, you wouldn’t have deliberately fallen down the slope to avoid the cameras and everyone else,’ she thought.
Jett nodded. “Yes.”
They continued their rapid-fire Q&A.
“Was that person put there by the miracle doctor?” Alicia asked.
“Yes,” Jett replied.
“Is there some kind of connection between Nicole and the miracle doctor?” Alicia pressed.
“I have no idea,” Jett replied.
“Has Nicole ever met or talked with the miracle doctor in private?”
“Not as far as I’m aware.”
“So Nicole has no idea the miracle doctor is looking out for her behind the scenes?”
“Exactly.”
“Was it the miracle doctor who hinted you should drug me earlier?”
“Yes.”
“Did you get close to me just so I’d save you?”

Chapter 241
“Yes.”
“You really hate that miracle doctor, don’t you?”
Word is, the miracle doctor cured Jett’s autism-but honestly, who’d ever want their mind messed with and be controlled like that?
A flash of viciousness flickered in Jett’s eyes. “Of course.”
“Do you know anything about the miracle doctor’s background?”
Jett replied, “All I know is he comes from a hidden family of legendary healers. That’s about it.”
That wasn’t off-limits or anything-plenty of people in the circle already knew about that part of his background.
Alicia figured the miracle doctor would never let Jett know the real story.
She asked, “Can you get in touch with the miracle doctor anytime you want?”
Jason had a crack team of investigators he’d personally trained for stuff like this.
Jett shot her a knowing look. “Whatever you want. Still, you and Jason seem pretty close these days.
“If I’m not mistaken, you two used to be at odds, right?”
Alicia just shrugged. “Well, I used to be part of the Hammond family, but now we’re basically strangers. Same thing.”
Jett chuckled. “You’ve got a point.”
Alicia leaned in and whispered, “He drugged you so he could use mind control on you.
“Give me some of your blood-I’ll take it back and work on an antidote.
“Once I have the antidote, you take it and the mind control will break automatically.
“But it’ll take some time.
“And I need to figure out his connection to Nicole. If I break the control now, he’ll get suspicious. So you’ll have to hang in there a bit longer.”
Jett held out his hand to Alicia again. “Go ahead, take it.
“It’s fine. I’ve waited this long, what’s a little more time?”
He let out a cold laugh. “Honestly, I just want to finish him off for good.”
Alicia nodded. If she were in his place, there’s no way she’d let him get away with it. Revenge was non-negotiable.
She always had some supplies on her whenever she stepped out-just in case.
She grabbed a sturdy needle, jabbed it into his fingertip, squeezed out a few drops of blood into an empty vial, sealed it tight, and tucked it away.
