Chapter 248
Chapter 248
“The Hammond family’s invited to the party the day after tomorrow too. If he shows up, you can see if anything seems fishy.”
Alicia nodded. “If something’s up, then our theory’s basically spot on.”
She shrugged. “But if he really ends up sick, I’m staying out of it.”
When they got back to their place, Jason and Alicia got out of the car and walked in together.
Before, Alicia had always been the one pushing Jason’s wheelchair. Now, walking side by side, she felt something she couldn’t quite put into words.
Alicia went over to Jason’s place and gave him another check-up. “You’re doing great. No more acupuncture for you.
“Just take it easy and avoid anything too strenuous for now.”
After the accident, Jason never thought he’d actually be able to stand up again.
Now, he cherished every moment he could walk.
“Alright, I’ll be careful,” he said.
“Can I drive yet?” he asked.
If he could drive, he could pick her up himself from now on.
Alicia replied, “Walking and driving are totally fine.”
Jason’s smile grew even warmer.
He turned to Alicia. “If you’re free around noon tomorrow, come over to my place for lunch.”
Alicia grinned. “What, Mr. Farrell, are you really going to cook for me yourself?”
Jason smiled. “Yeah, I said I’d cook for you before. Just not sure if you’ll do me the honor, Alicia.”
Alicia laughed out loud. “Of course I will! I’ll come by tomorrow and see how good your cooking really is, Mr. Farrell.”
Jason grinned. “I promise I won’t let you down.”
Over the past three months, he and Alicia had spent a lot of time together and shared quite a few meals.

So he knew exactly what she liked.
They chatted a bit longer until Alicia said it was time for her to head home.
Jason stood up and walked her home.
The next day at noon, after taking care of a few things, Alicia headed over to Jason’s place.
He’d already gotten all the ingredients ready and was slicing up some meat.
His movements were so practiced, you could tell he was no stranger to cooking.
Alicia walked over to help him wash the veggies, and watched him stir-fry.
Before long, the mouthwatering aroma of food filled the kitchen.
Jason kept it simple, whipping up four homestyle dishes.
It wasn’t just the Farrell and Hammond families-even the Delaney, Hayes, Kingsley, and Moore families were on the guest list.
Both Delaney brothers, all three Hammond brothers, and Nicolas were all there.
They were all standing around chatting with Victor.
Suddenly, someone nearby exclaimed, “Jason can actually walk now?”
Everyone whipped their heads toward the entrance in perfect sync.
Alicia, absolutely gorgeous, walked in arm-in-arm with Jason, who looked impossibly handsome and stood tall and proud.
All eyes in the room instantly locked onto the two of them.
Some people glanced at the Farrells, the Hammonds, and Nicole-who’d come with Jett— smirking with obvious amusement.
With all these families gathered, this was a recipe for drama. Things were about to get real interesting.
