Chapter 256

Nicolas gave the jar a disgusted look. He never imagined the key ingredient would actually be that guy’s blood.

Just the thought of having to take medicine mixed with blood made him feel sick to his

stomach.

His disgust for Nicole just got even worse.

At the same time, he decided he’d never bother getting close to Victor again. ‘Not worth it,’ he thought to himself.

Back then, he’d even gone out of his way to pick a fight with Jason, all for Victor.

Whenever Starlight Entertainment and Lucent Media went head-to-head, he was always the one taking the heat for Victor.

Looking back now, he couldn’t believe how stupid he’d been.

‘Brotherhood? What a load of crap,’ he thought to himself.

At least all this mess finally opened his eyes.

The Moore family didn’t question Alicia at all.

Nicolas’s mother found the key ingredient repulsive too, but for her son’s sake, she endured

She carefully sealed the jar and put it away.

The miracle doctor glanced at Nicolas’s mother. “Looks like the cure’s done. Now, hand over the evidence.”

Nicolas’s mother handed over all the evidence-except for the bottle with Nicole’s fingerprints on it.

Of course, she’d already made copies of all the videos and recordings, just in case.

She’d promised to hand over the evidence as long as he cured her son.

But she never said she wouldn’t make copies first.

After all, he had his own tricks up his sleeve too.

If she hadn’t been smart enough to bring Alicia along to keep watch, she would’ve been completely fooled.

This so-called miracle doctor didn’t have a shred of integrity.

So when the timing was right, she’d still turn those copies in to the

cops.

Since nobody here was playing fair, it was only right to pay him back in kind.

The doctor didn’t even glance at the evidence, just handed the file straight to Nicole. “You deal with it.”

Nicole took the file and breathed a huge sigh of relief.

She flashed the doctor a sweet smile. “Thanks, Uncle Doc.”

She handed the jar over to Alicia without a second thought.

Alicia pulled out a small vial from her bag, used a straw to draw a few drops of blood, then put the vial away and gave the jar back to Diana.

‘Doesn’t seem off to me, Alicia thought, but she said, “I’ll double-check it when I get home.

“If it’s all good, you can go ahead and let the medicine sit in there.”

Diana took the jar. “Looks like I’ll have to trouble you again.”

Alicia said, “Guess we’ll head out now.”

Diana smiled. “Let me see you out.”

Nicolas wanted to walk her out, but Alicia didn’t even look his

way.

He knew she didn’t want anything to do with him anymore,

It was like he’d swallowed a bitter pill-his heart felt unbearably sour.

He couldn’t help but regret ever taking her kindness for granted and doing whatever he pleased.

Only now, after losing her for good, did he realize Alicia had always been the most important person in his life.

Letting her go hurt as much as cutting out a piece of his own flesh.

But she didn’t want him anymore. If he didn’t want her to end up truly hating him, he had no choice but to swallow the pain and keep his distance.
