Chapter 259
Chapter 259
At the Hammond Group, Chairman’s office.
Leo found himself scrolling through X and landing right on the trending topics.
He never used to care about online drama-whenever he was online, it was just for news or the latest on the economy.
But ever since Alicia publicly cut him off and their family drama exploded on X, and then his stepdaughter tried to pull a fast one on Nicolas and that blew up too, he kept missing the news until it was everywhere.
So lately, he’d started scrolling through the trending topics every day, just to keep up.
Today, he spotted three trending topics in the top ten: [Nicole Hammond-Turns Out She’s the Real Hammond Daughter?], [Mavis’s Ex-Husband Calls Out You Shameless Pair], and [Mavis’s Ex-Husband Begs Leo Hammond and His Wife to Give Him a Break].
He couldn’t help but click in to see what was going on.
And what he saw almost gave him a heart attack right then and there.
The only thing in that video that was actually true for him was that he and Mavis really had been classmates.
Hand to God, he hadn’t even kept in touch with her back then, let alone hooked up with her in secret.
He’d had a crush on Alicia’s mom since he was young-there was no way he’d ever go for Mavis.
And as for the video claiming Mavis had been into him for years, he’d never even heard about that.
He couldn’t tell if it was real or just something that guy made up.
Leo paused, then tracked down Mavis’s ex-husband’s channel and clicked into the video showing the diary, studying it carefully.
After watching for a bit, his face turned grim.
The handwriting in the diary was, without a doubt, Mavis’s.
He’d lived with Mavis for years-he knew her handwriting and all her little writing quirks by heart.
Even if her writing was more immature back then, the way she formed certain strokes hadn’t

changed.
Some of the things written in the diary he couldn’t remember at all, but others he remembered clearly.
Like that time he didn’t get first place in the whole grade-he always set high standards for himself.
He was pretty frustrated, so he went out and played basketball until midnight to blow off
steam.
He was out there alone, not realizing someone was secretly watching him from the sidelines.
There were a few other things he’d never told anyone, but somehow they all ended up in that diary.
So even if Leo tried to tell himself the diary was fake, there was no way he could kid himself.
Turns out Mavis had been crushing on him since way back.
The diary even said he was into her too, that he kept looking at her and even helped her out
‘Is this even the same person?’ he thought, still in shock.
And then there was the whole thing about her supposedly scheming to ruin her ex-husband’s company and tricking him into gambling away everything-he had no clue about any of this.
He couldn’t help but wonder if Mavis’s ex-husband was just making all this up, or if Mavis had actually done all this behind his back.
Just then, there was a knock at the door.
He automatically called out, “Come in!”
When he looked up and saw one of the company’s biggest shareholders walk in, his expression soured even further.
He didn’t even need to guess-this guy was definitely here to gloat.
Sure enough.
The shareholder shot Leo a look like, “Wow, never pegged you for the type to mess around on the sly.
“If Nicole’s actually your real daughter, why go through all the trouble pretending she’s just your stepkid?
“You already brought your side piece home as your wife-might as well just admit Nicole’s your secret daughter, like the Hayes family did.”
The Hayes straight-up owned up to swapping their sons, and that the so-called fake heir was really the chairman’s kid from an affair.
Leo looked pissed. “Who said Nicole’s my daughter? Don’t go making stuff up.
