Chase grinned at everyone. “Now that our trainees and guests are paired up, it’s time for our guests to play a game.”
He continued, “You have two options. First, the trainees can choose whether they want their mentors to sing or dance.
“Second, both production teams will discuss and pick one MV for everyone. The guests will have to sing and dance at the
same time.
“We’ll give the guests a fixed amount of time to learn it, and when time’s up, they’ll perform and show us what they’ve learned.”
He asked first, “Which one do you trainees want?”
The trainees shouted without hesitation, “The second one!”
The second option was way more exciting, just like what those two guest groups chose before.
Plus, they wanted to see what their chosen guests could really do.
After all, learning something on the spot like this was a real test of skill.
Chase naturally wanted to play the second option, too.
But he still looked at the guests with a token gesture and asked, “What do you all think?”
Nicolas shrugged and said, “If we’re gonna do this, let’s go big. I’m in.”
He mainly focused on acting these days, but singing and dancing had never been a problem for him.
Maxwell was a top celebrity in the esports world, but he was also good at singing and had learned street dancing back in school.
The guests from the other three teams didn’t have any objections either.
If anyone backed out now, they’d basically be admitting defeat before the competition even started.
Felicity had already been leaning toward the second option anyway, and she particularly wanted to stand out in the upcoming solo performance and put Alicia in her place.
She wanted everyone to see just how professional she really was.
This time, the trainees and guests all agreed.
So Chase and Marley got together to discuss the details.
They decided to follow Nicolas’ suggestion to go big, and honestly, they were happy to do it.
Once they’d worked out most of the details, Ross and the others went off to prepare.
Chase walked onto the stage and said, “Some of our guests here are better at singing, and some are better at dancing. But after pairing up with the trainees, the performances for the public showcase will basically require both singing and dancing”
He continued, “So we’ve decided to randomly select from the MV tracks that the production team prepared but didn’t end up using, though they were already adapted. The guests will learn these tracks.

“Not only were the songs adapted, but we also had dance instructors choreograph dances for them.

“We’ll play them on the big screen first so everyone can watch them together, and then we’ll send the videos to each of you. You’ll have one hour to prepare.
“After one hour, we’ll start with the guest from Team 1 performing on stage.”
He smiled and added, “Of course, one hour is pretty short, so it’s unlikely you’ll learn everything. So you can pick out one section of singing and dancing to showcase.”
Then he changed his tone and said, “But of course, if you can perform the entire track, that would be even better.”
When he finished speaking, the trainees looked excited, as if they were ready to watch a good show.
‘The production team really knows how to stir things up, they thought.
Learning the same song within just one hour would be incredibly challenging for the guests.
If someone learned slowly, they might not even master a single section well enough to perform it in that time.
But this format would directly reveal which of the eight guests had the strongest singing and dancing skills.
None of the guests objected to this setup.
Simon and Hannah seemed calm about it, since they were primarily actors anyway, so they’d just do their best.
Nicole had debuted as a singer, but after watching Alicia join a girl group, she’d taken dance lessons herself, so she could handle this kind of challenge.
Only Darren looked utterly miserable. He leaned over and said quietly to Alicia, “Alicia, performing a solo song and dance is killing me.”
He wasn’t exactly socially anxious, but he was definitely an introvert through and through.
Alicia laughed and patted his shoulder. “It’s okay, I believe in you. Just pretend you’re acting when you get up there.”
If he wanted to clear his name, this was a necessary step.
Darren sighed, “Alright, I’ll try treating it like acting.”
The camera behind them captured their entire conversation, and viewers heard every word.
Comments flooded in. [Darren looks exactly like me when I’m dreading social interaction.]
I noticed before that he’s been nervous this whole time and keeps listening to whatever Alicia says.]
[I think he’s an introvert.]
He’s handsome but always has this serious expression that makes him look kind of intimidating, but now seeing him all scared and nervous is actually kind of cute. Is there something wrong with me?]
[Girl, I’m the same way]
The production team played through the five MV tracks they had prepared but hadn’t used yet.
After watching all of them, the guests could see that two were simple, two were moderately difficult, and one was extremely

challenging.

The guests didn’t show what they were thinking, but several of them were definitely hoping they wouldn’t get stuck with the hardest one.
Felicity, on the other hand, was hoping for exactly that one. ‘The hardest track would give me the best chance to stand out, she thought.
The trainees started chanting, “Number three, number three!”
Number three was the hardest one.
The live chat exploded with the same thing: [Number three!]
Of course, everyone wanted to see the hardest one because that would be the most exciting and interesting to watch. They were all there for the drama anyway.
Then Chase invited Marley up to the stage. “You pick,” he said.
Marley smiled and said, “Alright, let’s see how lucky I am.” He walked over and tapped one of the keys.
The tracks that had been rotating and jumping around on the screen started to slow down, and finally stopped on the third track.
When the result appeared, the trainees couldn’t hold back their shock and gasped, “Whoa, it’s actually the hardest one!”
“This is gonna be wild!”
Marley looked stunned for a second, but then he smiled at the guests and said, “Looks like my luck’s pretty good. I picked the best one for you guys.”
The guests thought, ‘Yeah, thanks so much for that.’
They all suspected the whole thing was rigged and that Chase and Marley had set this up on purpose.
But since the track had already been chosen, they had no choice but to accept it.
Nicolas spoke up and asked, “No problem, but where are we going to practice?”
They couldn’t just have everyone learn together in this crowded space.
Chase and Marley had already worked this out.
“We’re going to give each group their own practice room,” Marley explained. “You’ll go in there to learn, and your team’s trainees will come with you to watch.”
‘But we won’t be livestreaming what happens during that hour,” Chase added. “Instead, we’ll record everything without any cuts, and after today’s livestream ends, we’ll upload it to both shows’ official websites as bonus content.
“During that hour, the livestream will be temporarily shut down so the audience can take a break too.”
Not livestreaming the guests’ practice sessions would hook the viewers’ curiosity and keep them interested.
Making them wait to see the results would build anticipation and leave them wanting more.
Plus, with a live variety show, the audience couldn’t realistically watch all day without a break anyway.

The guests and trainees had no objections.

The viewers, though, really wanted to watch the practice sessions live, so they flooded the comments section, roasting Chase and Marley for being cruel.
The show had no shortage of practice rooms, so they quickly assigned one to each group.
Then the livestream shut off.
And just like that, the audience was left hanging and dying to know what would happen next.
