As Alicia got into the car, Jason noticed Nicolas waiting by the gale nearby.

Once the car started moving, Jason turned to Alicia.

He asked, “Did they show up again?”

Alicia replied, “Yep.”

She added, “Mrs. Moore came to me and said she wants me and Nicolas to get engaged at Old Man Hammond’s birthday bash.”

Jason raised an eyebrow. “So this was Nicolas’s idea, huh?”

He figured Nicolas must’ve realized Alicia was serious about moving on, so he was in a rush to lock her down with an engagement.

But once someone was gone, they were gone for good.

Nicolas never knew how to cherish what he had, so losing her was what he deserved.

Alicia replied, “I think so.”

She smirked and added, “But I already turned them down. If they’re so set on a family alliance, they can go talk to Nicole instead.”

Jason couldn’t help but laugh. “That suggestion of yours is just going to make the Moore family even more unwilling to accept Nicole.”

Setting aside the fact that Nicolas and Alicia practically grew up together, Alicia’s the true heiress here.

Just the fact that Alicia owns six percent of Hammond Group-Nicole can’t even come close to that.

By making that suggestion, Alicia was basically letting the Moore family know that Nicole had played a key role in driving a wedge between her and Nicolas.

Alicia leaned back lazily in her seat. “Some things just aren’t hers for the taking, no matter how much she wants them.”

Even if Alicia didn’t want those things herself, she’d make sure Nicole never got her hands on them.

They chatted for a while longer.

Jason said, “You’ve really turned things around on this variety show. No one’s calling you ‘deadweight’ anymore.”

He added, “The next episode airs in a week. Other than that, is there anything else you want to do?”

“Two other variety shows have sent you invites. Interested?

“Or maybe you’re thinking about getting into acting?”

Alicia replied, “I want to focus on acting. I’m done with variety shows.”

She added, “I’ve always preferred acting over singing or dancing

Jason looked surprised. “You actually like acting? Did you take classes for it?”

Knowing Alicia, if she was into something, she’d always make sure to be fully prepared before jumping in.

Alicia nodded. “Besides singing and dancing. I’ve been privately earning acting from two professors at the film academy for the past two years.”

She met one of them when she helped him with a health problem, and he introduced her to the other.

Jason said, “Alright, I get it. Let me see what scripts are out there for you.”

“And if nothing good comes up, I’ll just fund a movie for you myself.”

He owned his own investment company, totally separate from cent Media.

Alicia turned to him with a playful smile. “Aren’t you worried your investment might bomb?”

Jason just shrugged. “No big deal. I’ve got more money than I know what to do with.

“Besides, I know you’ll do great.”

Then he grinned. “Who knows, maybe you’ll even help me raken a fortune. I’ve got a flawless record in the investment world, you know.”

Alicia rolled her eyes at him. “You’re really making me want to hate the rich, you know. Keep showing off and I’ll join the ‘cat the rich’ club.”

Honestly, this guy was just too good at making money-at this point, cash was probably nothing more than numbers on a

screen to him.

Jason chuckled. “If I’m not mistaken, aren’t you pretty loaded yourself?”

Alicia pouted. “Oh, please. What I’ve got is just small change-neway I can compete with a moneybags like you.”

She added, “If you’re putting money into a movie, let me invest too.”

She’d already built up a ton of experience picking scripts and acting in her last life, so she trusted her own judgment.

Once those dividends landed in her account, she’d be flush with cash. Just letting it sit there would be a total waste.

Putting that money to work and letting it grow sounded like the perfect plan.

Jason nodded. “Alright, let’s do it together. We’ll make our own film.

“And who knows, maybe we can even go head-to-head with your former third brother.

“His new show is already locked in. Starlight Entertainment’s backing it, and Austin’s thrown some money in too.

“Nicole’s the female lead, and Nicolas might be the male lead.”

Alicia knew exactly which show he meant-the historical romane drama that was about to blow Nicole up into the next internet sensation.

And yeah, Nicolas was definitely the male lead.

Her former teammate, Bianca, snagged a role too, so she’d get to cash in on the hype as well.

Alicia shot Jason an approving look. “Guess we’re fighting the same battle here. That’s exactly what I was thinking”

Honestly, she was more than happy to mess with those people.

She added, “I’m planning to take them back. What do you think about letting your investment company handle them for me?”

Jason replied, “No problem. Just transfer them over whenever you’re ready.”

He asked, “Are you ready for what’s coming up next week?”

Alicia knew exactly what he was talking about. “Yeah, I’m ready.

She added, “You wanna come watch the drama unfold with me?

Jason chuckled. “Wouldn’t miss it for the world!”

Back then, his life was pretty dull-just work, making money, and plotting revenge.

But ever since he teamed up with Alicia, things had gotten way more interesting.

He never used to care about watching the drama unfold or getting into the tea.

But now, he was actually starting to enjoy it.

He asked, “Need any help with anything?”

Alicia thought for a second. “Got any hacker contacts? I need to tap into the Hammond family’s surveillance system, and I want to project something onto their screens without them being able to cut it off.

“So I’ll need some real hacking skills to make sure they can’t kill the feed.”

Jason pointed at himself. “You came to the right person-I’m the hacker you need.”

Aside from his investments, Jason’s main focus overseas had been on cutting-edge technology and renewable energy.

Back in college, he majored in artificial intelligence, and one of his close buddies was a top-tier hacker-Jason actually learned hacking skills directly from him.

Alicia’s eyes sparkled. “Jason, you’re such a brainiac-there’s nothing you can’t do. You really have your hands in everything.

Leo returned from an overseas business trip, bringing his wife along.
