Chapter 73
Meanwhile, at Alicia’s place.
Alicia and Jason were sprawled out on the couch, watching the surveillance footage from the Hammond family’s lawn.
Jason was the one who hacked into their system, and now they were just sitting back, enjoying the drama.
Alicia was the one who set up the screen casting.
Since she was the one who organized her former father’s birthday party, her laptop had a program installed that let her cast the video online.
She’d already guessed that Kevin would try to shut down the big screen.
So Jason stepped in again, making sure the screen wouldn’t turn off.
He was also the one who hacked in and put that line of text up there for her.
As they watched the Hammonds walk off, Jason glanced at Alicia
“Your ex-dad is really losing it,” he said.
Alicia just shrugged. “He brought it on himself.”
If he hadn’t been so biased against me, she wouldn’t have dropped that bomb on him.
Besides, if she didn’t go all out, the Hammonds would just think she was messing around, never taking her seriously.
Jason warned, “His new wife is probably going to make a move. You better keep your guard up.”
Alicia narrowed her eyes. “I’m not just going to sit here and play defense. It’s about time I hit back.”
No way she was letting that mother-daughter duo get away with what they’d done.
In her previous life, once she finally cleared her name, she started going after that mother-daughter duo for payback.
But back then, those two and Victor always seemed to have insane luck-like they had plot armor or something, just like the main characters in a novel.
They’d somehow escape every crisis, or help would magically appear just when they needed it.
Meanwhile, she and Jason were basically the villains in their stor

This time, though, she just knew their ridiculous luck wouldn’t hold up like last time. Things were finally going to go back to
Jason asked, “Want me to have Lucent Media’s PR team make the real story about you and Nicole public?”
Alicia nodded. “Yeah, do it. The timing’s perfect.”
When she first came back, she didn’t let the truth out right away She wanted to clear her name first, so everyone would see her as the victim and understand what she’d really been through

When Alicia found out Nicole was going on a variety show, she knew Nicole would pull her usual stunt-using the Hammond family to mess with her.
Sure enough, Nicole put on a show with her music, acting like the golden child with the perfect dad.
Meanwhile, Alicia let everyone know she was done with her family and had cut them off for good.
That created a stark contrast between them.
Once the truth came out, anyone with half a brain would be rooting for her.
Even if Jason hadn’t mentioned it, Alicia was already set on exposing the truth about her and Nicole’s real identities.
That’s why she deliberately made that post on X.
First, it was to piss off the Hammond men and make them lose face in front of everyone.
Second, it was to reveal that she was the real heiress of the Hammond family.
People would definitely start wondering why she had 6% of Hammond Group’s shares and could start collecting dividends as soon as she turned 18.
Jason grabbed his phone and started sending out messages to get things rolling.
Now that he was Alicia’s manager, it was only natural for Lucent Media’s PR team to handle this.

In the Hammond family’s study, Austin helped Leo into a chair, while Caleb handed him a glass of water.
Leo’s face was grim as he said, “Alright, spill it. What the hell happened?”
This time, Kevin and the others laid everything out, no holding back.
They started from the blow-up after that performance-how Alia cut ties with them, blocked them everywhere, hired a lawyer to go after her shares and dividends, and even took them to court.
They filled Leo in on how Alicia got roasted online for supposedly faking her identity, and how she’s now teamed Jason.

After hearing everything, Leo couldn’t hold back and hurled his feacup at Kevin.
“All this happened, and you kept it from me?” he roared.
Water splashed all over Kevin, soaking his shirt.
He braced himself and said, “We just thought she was angry, that she wouldn’t really cut us off or skip your birthday.
“We were worried you’d get too upset, so we didn’t say anything
“We figured once she showed up today, we’d have a real conversation with her.
“Who would’ve thought she was actually serious? Not only did she skip the party, she pulled off such a dramatic stunt.”
After all this, they finally understood that Alicia really meant to cut ties for good.
If she wasn’t serious, she wouldn’t have used that video to announce it in front of everyone, or called them out on X demanding her money.

Chapter 73
She wasn’t leaving them any room to save face-just straight-up humiliation.
Leo got even angrier. “Always making assumptions, huh? You guys think you know everything?”
So Alicia had already made a scene about cutting ties and even hired a lawyer.
No wonder people had come to talk to him about it before.
He glared at his three sons, his eyes burning with anger and disappointment.
“She invited you to her performance. Why didn’t you go?
“She got hurt and ended up in the hospital. Why didn’t you go see her?
“What kind of brothers are you?”
Kevin replied, “We never approved of her getting into showbiz. We wanted to push her to quit.
“We skipped it to make it clear we didn’t support her decision to go into showbiz.”
He let out a bitter laugh. “Honestly, we never thought she’d really cut us off just because of that.”

Honestly, if they’d known things would end up like this, they would’ve dropped everything and showed up that day, no matter what.
And now it hit them-that whole mess was just the trigger. There was way more going on beneath the surface.
Leo snapped, “But you can’t just ignore her and let her fend for Herself!
“She’s getting dragged online, and none of you even said a word to defend her?
“She’s the real heiress of Hammond Group-so all that talk about her faking it is just nonsense!”
Kevin replied, “We honestly had no clue about any of that. All we knew was, after she joined the industry, her singing and dancing sucked, so she was holding her girl group back and getting roasted for it.
“We figured she only got into showbiz because of Nicolas, so she wasn’t really focused on her career at all.
“She got dragged for being dead weight, and we thought that would make her realize the entertainment world just wasn’t for her. We figured she’d bow out once things got rough.
“We only found out about the whole identity scandal later, but by then, she was already fighting with us about other stuff.
“Plus, Nicole’s so sensitive-we were worried if we brought it up she’d get all worked up and think we’d ditch her. That’s why we kept putting it off.”
Leo fell silent for a moment.
After all, Nicole had been hurt a lot as a kid, and she was always scared the Hammond family would just toss her aside.
She was so fragile and insecure, constantly on edge, afraid of losing what little she had.
Over the years, they’d tried their best to make her feel at home and safe with the Hammonds.
But all that effort just made Alicia even more annoyed-she could never stand Nicole and her mom.
He let out a heavy sigh. “If she had issues, couldn’t we just talk it out? Why did she have to blow things up like this?”
Part of him was pissed-Alicia had totally crossed the line, going out of her way to humiliate him at his own birthday bash.

But deep down, it stung. He just couldn’t wrap his head around the fact that his daughter actually wanted to cut them off for good.
She was the little girl he’d always held in the palm of his hand, showering her with love all these years.
Sure, maybe they gave Nicole a little extra attention, but it’s not like they ever did anything to really wrong Alicia, right?
Alicia was always gunning for Nicole and her mom, and any little thing would set her off, turning it into a huge fight with the whole family.
Kevin shook his head, still baffled. “Seriously, we’ve tried to sit down and talk things out, but she just shuts us out every single time.”
Leo hesitated for a moment, then pulled out his phone and actually called Alicia.
Ever since that dinner, when he’d criticized Alicia because of Nicole and she lost it-flipping the table and storming out- they hadn’t spoken a word to each other.
They hadn’t been in touch since.
He’d been waiting for her to come crawling back and make the first move.
But when he called, all he got was a message saying the number was no longer in service.
He froze for a second. ‘She actually ditched her old number?’ he thought, stunned.
Then he tried WhatsApp, tapping to start a voice call.
But to his shock, he wasn’t even on her contact list anymore.
‘She actually deleted me from WhatsApp?
‘Is she really trying to cut us out of her life completely?
‘When did she turn so cold?’ he wondered, feeling the sting in his chest.
