Chapter 85
Collin happened to be at the hospital today.
After a moment’s thought, he got up and walked over to the patient’s room.

By now, Leo had finished his check-up. His blood pressure, cholesterol, and heart rate were all elevated, so he was admitted for observation.
When Collin arrived, the other two Hammond brothers were already there.
Nicole had fallen ill and been hospitalized the day after her birthday party, and Mavis was still by her side.
The Hammond brothers hadn’t told either of them.
After reading Leo’s test results, Collin said, “Uncle Leo, you really need to watch your temper from now on.”
Leo replied, “It’s not like I want to get angry, but Ally’s out there calling that bastard her dad and always picking fights with me on purpose. I just can’t hold it in.”
Just bringing it up pissed him off again, and the more he dwelled on it, the madder he got.
Collin didn’t know what to say to that.
So he switched topics. “Is Ally really about to sell that six percent stake she owns in Hammond Group?”
Leo blinked in surprise, then asked, “How do you know about that?”
No one had brought it up before.
Collin replied honestly, “I saw it on Patrick’s feed.”
Leo frowned, looking puzzled. “How’d he find out?”
Then a sense of dread hit him. “Show me.”
Collin realized he’d just made a dumb move.
Judging by Leo’s reaction, he clearly didn’t know about this. If he saw the video from Patrick’s feed, he’d probably lose his temper all over again.
Collin hesitated, feeling awkward. “Uh, well…”
Seeing Collin’s hesitation, Leo’s tone grew even more insistent. “Show it to me.”
Reluctantly, Collin pulled up Patrick’s feed and handed over his phone.
Leo tapped on the video. It started with him and Kevin going to find Alicia, only to get called out by her for being rude.
The whole thing was recorded, right up to Kevin helping him out of the restaurant at the end.
After watching the video, Leo’s face turned even darker. “Patrick actually recorded the whole thing and posted it online? What the hell is he trying to do?” Leo muttered, clearly pissed.
Just great. Once this video gets around. I’m going to be the butt of everyone’s jokes.

And now, even more people will be scrambling to get their hands on that six percent stake in Hammond Group. Leo realized, his mood sinking further.
He glanced at the comments under Patrick’s post. Everyone was saying stuff like. “This drama is insane!”
Even the younger crowd were dropping likes and comments, calling Alicia straight-up savage and totally boss.
Seriously, what’s wrong with these people? They’re always hungry for the Hammond family’s drama.
Alicia nearly made her own dad faint, and all these kids are applauding her for it? Has the world gone mad?’ Leo wondered. shaking his head.
Collin said. “That’s just how he is-he loves watching the spectacle.”
Leo took a deep breath. “I need to have a word with his dad. That kid is really out of line.”
I need to call Patrick’s dad right now and get him to make Patrick delete that post, Leo thought, feeling a surge of urgency.
He went ahead and called up Patrick’s dad.
Meanwhile. Patrick’s dad Peter couldn’t help but curse his eldest son under his breath. ‘Seriously, is he out of his mind? Always meddling in things and now he’s gone and pissed off Leo Hammond?’
When he picked up Leo’s call, he apologized right away and promised to make Patrick delete the post.
After hanging up, he tried calling Patrick, but the phone was off.
He knew right away that Patrick was doing this on purpose.
He was so pissed he couldn’t stop cursing Patrick out, swearing at him again and again.
But with Patrick nowhere to be found, he was left completely helpless.
At the hospital, Collin thought for a moment and said, “Since Alicia’s planning to sell her shares, maybe the Hammond family or I should just buy them ourselves?”
Leo nodded, seeing the logic. “If we can get her to sell, that’d be ideal.
“But I’m worried that stubborn girl won’t sell to us,” he grumbled.
He could tell-Alicia was deliberately going against them now.
Collin said, “She’s always cared about people. If she’s set on selling, it doesn’t really matter who buys, right? Why don’t we just offer her a price she’d be willing to accept?”
Leo thought it over. “Alright, let’s give it a shot.”
That six percent stake absolutely couldn’t end up in anyone else’s hands-especially not that other big shareholder who’s always butting heads with him at work.
So Leo turned to Kevin and said, “Give Jason a call and tell him you want to buy Ally’s shares. See if she’s up for selling.”
Kevin nodded, pulled out his phone, and dialed Jason.

He couldn’t shake off that suffocating feeling in his chest.

‘Seriously, I have to go through someone else just to reach my own sister? What a joke, Kevin thought, feeling like the whole thing was almost laughable-if it didn’t sting so much.
Jason picked up and said he’d check with Alicia for him.
He could already guess what she’d say, but he still messaged Alicia anyway.
There was no way Alicia was going to sell to the Hammonds.
She’d already made up her mind-if the offer was good enough, she’d hand those shares over to that other major shareholder without a second thought.
She was honestly looking forward to seeing the Hammond Group’s drama play out.
She was also curious if the three Hammond brothers would really put their shares on the table.
Even if they had to, it’d definitely be a thorn in their side.
Leo wanted a happy family, but Alicia had zero intention of letting that happen.
Back in her last life, Alicia had sold her shares to that same major shareholder, but she checked out before she could watch the Hammond Group turn into a total mess.
This time, Alicia wasn’t going to miss a second-she was ready to sit back and enjoy the chaos firsthand.
So it wasn’t long before Jason called Kevin back.
Kevin picked up and asked, “Mr. Farrell, what did Alicia say?”
Jason replied, “Alicia said she’d rather let those shares go to waste than ever sell them to you guys.”
That completely crushed whatever hope Kevin had left. “We can offer a higher price,” he said, still trying to turn things around.
Jason replied, “Alicia said if it’s you guys buying, forget it.
“I’ve passed on the message. That’s it,” Jason said, ending the call.
Kevin hung up and told his dad exactly what Jason had said.
Leo’s face turned even gloomier. “Is she really just trying to piss me off on purpose?”
Hearing that, Leo couldn’t help but think back to what Alicia said about Nicole putting on that funeral face.
He turned to Kevin and the others. “Don’t tell Nicole and her mom I’m in the hospital.
Otherwise, those two would just show up and start bawling in front of him.
Yeah, they’d be crying because they care, and he never minded before, but now it just feels like a bad omen.
Kevin and the others nodded. “Got it.”
Leo turned to Collin. “Collin, why don’t you go talk to Ally and see if you can buy her shares?”

Collin nodded. “Alright, I’ll give it a shot.”
He added, sounding worried, “And besides that, if Ally and Mr. Yates end up joining Lucent Media’s eco-project, it could really mess things up for us.”
All the families had already sunk a fortune into that project, and the thing was, it was already underway.
If it crashed and burned, the losses would be massive.
Leo rubbed his temples. ‘Yeah, that’s got me worried too.’
They honestly never expected Alicia to pull something like this.
They just took it for granted that if they brought it up, she’d agree to join the project without a second thought.
That’s why they didn’t even think to discuss it with her beforehand.
Leo looked at Collin and said, “Find a chance to talk to Ally and try to calm her down. See if you can convince her not to do anything impulsive.”
He added, “Whatever Jason’s offering her, we can match it-or even beat it.”
‘Alicia’s always been tight with her mom, and she’s got a ton of issues with us. Maybe she’ll actually listen to someone from Collin’s side,’ Leo thought.
Collin agreed. “Alright, I’ll see what I can do to talk to her.”
On top of that, one of the big clients Delaney Group was trying to land had gotten sick.
They wanted to bring in a top traditional medicine doctor to treat them, but the guy was almost impossible to reach.
Right now, they were working every connection they had, trying to find someone who could hook them up with that doctor.
If Delaney Group could make that connection and actually get the client cured, they’d have that big client in the bag.
If they could land this deal, not only would the profits be massive, but it could really shape Delaney Group’s future in medical tech.
They had to do whatever it took to make it happen.
And it wasn’t just Delaney Group-all the other big players in the game were scrambling for it too.
Turns out, that top traditional medicine doctor was actually Alicia’s professor’s mentor at Solmare Medical College, so Collin thought, why not ask Alicia to help connect them?
Collin called Kevin into his office for a chat, mainly to get the scoop on how Alicia had been acting lately and what her attitude was like.
After their talk, Collin gave Jason a call.
He wanted Jason to help him get in touch with Alicia-either set up a meeting, or at least pass on the message that he wanted to talk to her.
But Jason shot him down.
So Collin had no choice but to copy Leo’s move-he had someone keep tabs on Alicia, ready to bump into her the second

The next day, Alicia went to meet with the other big shareholder-the one always at odds with Leo.
He came across as genuinely interested, and the price he offered was right in Alicia’s sweet spot-even better than anything she’d gotten from the others lately.
So she agreed to sell her shares to him.
That same day, Alicia also introduced Ian to Jason.
They didn’t just talk about the eco-project-they also chatted about teaming up on a medical project.
The next day, Alicia invited Jason and Landon out for dinner.
This time, they picked a different restaurant and booked a private room.
Not long after Alicia arrived at the restaurant, Collin got the heads-up.
He hurried over to the restaurant right away.
