“Mom, Dad, I have some matters to attend to, so I’ll be on my way.” Ethan stood, said his goodbyes, and left.

Just then, Matthew’s call came through.

Seeing his name on her screen, Arabella felt a flicker of surprise. Why would he be calling her?

Florence saw Arabella go up and come straight back down, apparently heading out. Thinking she might still be worried about the Macdonalds she followed and asked with concern, “Arabella, are you going out?”

“Yes. There’s a problem with Robert. I need to go see him,” Arabella explained.

Hearing it was about Robert, Naomi immediately set down her toast and walked over. “Has Mr. Stewart’s condition worsened?”

“I’ll come with you,” Naomi offered, also concerned about Robo

“Be careful on the road,” Florence called after her.

Soon, Arabella’s sports car pulled out of Cloudrise Manor and headed toward the hospital.

“Was it someone from the hospital who called earlier?” Naomi asked anxiously.

After parking, she headed straight inside without another word to Naomi.

Naomi stood there for a moment, watching Arabella enter, feeling torn. Should she go in to see Robert or not?

After a brief internal struggle, she decided she’d come this far–she might as well check on him. Otherwise, she wouldn’t feel right.

She hurried after Arabella.

“How is he?” Arabella’s voice carried from inside Robert’s room.

Seeing her arrive, some of the tension eased from Matthew’s

expression.

“Dr. Macdonald, please take a look. Robert started having severe muscle spasms. We administered his medication, but they haven’t stopped!” The doctor, Owen Lewis, explained, his face pale.

“Alright.” Arabella moved to Robert’s side, took out her needles, and began treatment.

Owen watched nervously, hardly daring to breathe, afraid something might go wrong on their watch.

Naomi slipped quietly into the room. Seeing Robert spasming on the bed, she almost gasped

“No, I just overheard Arabella say Mr. Stewart had taken a turn, and I was worried, so I came along,” Naomi replied, looking up at him with a hint of grievance.

“What happened to him just now?” she asked, concern in her voice.

“You saw for yourself. It’s busy in there. You should go home,” Matthew said, not interested in further conversation. He needed to get back.

With that, he turned and reentered the room.

Naomi was left standing alone in the corridor, feeling dismissed.

After Arabella’s treatment, Robert’s spasms gradually subsided.

She let out a slow breath and sat down to rest. Then she looked at Owen. “What medication did you give him today?”

“I thought… since he seemed to be improving, a small addition of modern medicine might help speed his recovery. I didn’t expect this reaction,” Owen admitted, his voice growing quieter, full of self–reproach.

Arabella looked at him, exasperated. “What were my instructions when I left? Why didn’t you follow them?

“Do you realize how dangerous that was? If I hadn’t gotten here in time and something had happened to Robert, who in this hospital could Have taken responsibility?”
