Chapter 132 No Faint Redness From Slaps

Margaret lay sprawled on the ground, and no one stepped forward to help her up.
Stella sobbed loudly as she said, “Margaret, I know you hate me. We are sisters, no matter what divides us. How could you strike me like this? I do not wish to hold anger toward you, but you have gone too far this time.”
Nadia sobbed uncontrollably, “Ms. Stella Campbell, do not waste your words on her. We must tell Mr. Timothy Campbell at once, so he may give you the justice you deserve.”
Servants clustered together in whispers, filling the air with quiet murmurs.
Stella reached for Margaret’s hand in a show of false kindness. “Father has returned home today. No matter how much you dislike me, you ought to restrain yourself.”
Margaret pushed her hand away sharply.
Before she could speak, a young maid hurried over. “Ms. Campbell, Ms. Stella Campbell, Mr. Timothy Campbell demands your presence in the main hall at once.”
Stella smiled faintly, “We understand. Tell Father we will come shortly.”
She turned to the crowd of servants. “Disperse at once. There is no need to linger here.”
The right people never showed up. All my acting was for nothing.
The servants scattered quickly, while Margaret stayed unnervingly quiet.
Stella did not glance back at her even once. She turned and left with Nadia at her side.
“I do not know how you survived that cliff, or what tricks you used to turn those men against me,” Stella muttered coldly. “I will admit you have remarkable luck. We shall see if your luck holds today.”
Supporting Stella, Nadia fumed with rage. “There is no need to let her trouble you. She may have changed Mr. Jasper Campbell’s view of her, and by some chance saved Crown Prince Christopher’s life, but what of
it?
“Crown Prince Christopher’s heart belongs only to you. Mr. Jasper Campbell will always stand by your side. Even if they feel a flicker of sympathy for that rude girl, sympathy will never outweigh their loyalty to you. She will never defeat you.”
Still talking, the two of them slowly walked off.
Before long, they reached the hall where Timothy was.
Stella burst into tears the moment she stepped inside. “I am sorry for being late, Father. I have failed you, and I accept any punishment you see fit.”
She dabbed at her eyes with a silk handkerchief, putting on the perfect act of a wronged young lady.
Nadia said at once, “Mr. Timothy Campbell. On our way here, Ms. Campbell pinned Ms. Stella Campbell

to the ground and struck her face dozens of times. Her cruelty is unforgivable. You must protect Ms. Stella Campbell. Her face is swollen and bruised from the beating.”
She sobbed bitterly as she spoke.
A large round table stood in the center of the hall. Jasper and Timothy sat in silence, their faces dark and
stern.
Stella grew confused. On any other day, they would have risen at once to comfort her and condemn Margaret.
Why do they remain completely still?
Nadia lifted her head subtly to study their expressions, then shot a panicked glance at Stella.
To her horror, Stella’s face held not a single mark. Her skin was smooth and flawless, soft as a newborn’s skin–no swelling, no bruises, no faint redness from slaps.
It is clear why Mr. Timothy Campbell and Mr. Jasper Campbell look so furious.
Nadia’s tears died in her throat instantly.
She tugged Stella’s sleeve, desperate to warn her. Before she could speak, Margaret stepped quietly into the hall, her head bowed low in meek silence.
Timothy let out a long, heavy sigh. “We heard your shouting and wailing from far away. As noble young ladies, where is your dignity? You are blood sisters, yet you brawl and quarrel in public. What a disgrace.”
Stella spoke in a soft, tearful tone, “Father, Margaret did not mean to hurt me. I angered her first, which drove her to strike my face. I know she resents my betrothal to Crown Prince Christopher. I never wished to take the Crown Princess title—it was forced upon me by him.”
“Besides, what did my face ever do to Margaret? Why lash out at my face in anger?” she whimpered. “My features must be ruined now. I hate to blame Margaret, yet my heart aches deeply from this unfair harm.”
