Said No to the Prince and Yes to the King novel Chapter 152

Chapter 152 Nothing Impressive at All

Noelle froze in place. Uncle Theodore

Theodore said, Keep quiet.

Noelle caught the clear impatience in his voice. She parted her lips as if to argue, yet in the end, she simply clamped her mouth shut and fell silent.

A heavy hush settled over the royal bedchamber. Once Margaret finished checking Spencer’s pulse, she asked a servant to bring over a set of acupuncture tools.

Seeing that she intended to give Spencer acupuncture, Theodore spoke up. What is Spencer’s exact condition?

Margaret replied, It’s just an old lingering ailment, nothing serious. A few rounds of acupuncture followed by several doses of medicine will cure it completely.

As she spoke, she helped Spencer sit up. King Spencer, please try to stay still while I perform acupuncture on you.

Spencer narrowed his eyes slightly. As a reigning monarch, he had never once let a female healer treat him -let alone such a young lady. This is the first time I’ve ever heard someone from the Prime Minister’s Estate possess such extraordinary medical skill.”

His voice was weak with illness, yet it still carried an air of unshakable authority.

Margaret said humbly, My medical skills are only average. I merely have Prince Theodore’s trust, which gives me this opportunity to help

Spencer cut her off, I will not take risks with mediocre skill.

As he spoke, he reached out and suddenly grabbed Margaret’s wrist without warning.

Margaret stiffened for a moment.

He doubts me, doesn’t he? It makes perfect sense. A king would never hand his own safety over to a stranger so easily.

Theodore spoke up at once. Spencer, you can trust her.”

At those words, Spencer slowly released her wrist. If Theodore vouches for you, I shall place my trust in you this once.

He rubbed his aching head gently as he continued, Ever since I woke up, my head has throbbed with a dull, heavy pain. Even after taking pain remedies, I still feel constantly foggy and drowsy. The medicine only eases the ache for two hours before the pain returns. If you can cure this persistent headache of mine, I shall reward you handsomely.”

Margaret gave a slight nod, then picked up the acupuncture needle and began the treatment.

Standing off to the side, Noelle wore a look of obvious disdain. Look at all these acupuncture needles of different lengthsdon’t go mixing them up later. Stop pretending you know what you’re doing. If you

Margaret kept her expression neutral, her hands moving with gentle, careful precision. These needles vary in length because each serves a different purpose and is used on different spots. If you’re truly worried for King Spencer, Princess Noelle, you may open all the nearby windows and bring over two lanterns. The brighter the room, the less chance there is of making a mistake.

It was clear Margaret only wanted to send this noisy princess away.

She would never miss a single acupoint or make any error, bright light or not.

Noelle failed to catch Margaret’s underlying intent. She actually walked over to fling open every window in the chamber, then ordered a servant to fetch two lanterns and set them on the table.

She muttered unhappily under her breath, If your eyesight is so poor you need extra light for acupuncture, you’re practically begging for your whole family to be punished.”

Noelle walked back to the bedside and gasped in shock the moment she saw Spencer’s head covered all over with acupuncture needles.

She stared in alarm. Do you even know how to do this properly? There’s no need for so many needles! Don’t go messing around.

Margaret shot her a cold glance and ignored her completely.

Undeterred, Noelle stepped forward and tugged at Theodore’s arm. Uncle Theodore, look at her! She doesn’t look like she knows the first thing about acupuncture at all. Don’t put your trust in her blindly.

Theodore let out a quiet sigh and gently pulled his arm free from her grasp.

Spencer simply closed his eyes and said nothing.

Margaret stayed silent.

These two really have no sense of quiet at all. It’s plain to see how deeply the king dotes on this princess.

Noelle pointed at the array of acupuncture needles spread across the table, her tone sharp with doubt. So many oddlooking needles lined up here. I doubt you can even tell them apart, let alone use them properly. Uncle Theodore, don’t risk Father’s safety.”

Margaret pulled one acupuncture needle out slowly, glancing casually at Noelle. The one you’re pointing to is the Sharp Needlemostly used to clear blood stasis and clear internal heat. It has a round, straight body with a sharp tip, also known as the TriEdged Needle. Next to it is the Blade Needle, shaped like a short sword to drain pus and blood. There are also hurtdispelling needles, plus the Fine Needle I hold now, used mainly for treating blood stasis and persistent body aches.

Royal healers use a full set of nine uniquely shaped acupuncture needles, rich and finely crafted. They can use each type alone or combine several together in their treatments.

Noelle’s lips twitched with irritation. So what if you can name them all? Just knowing the names of these needles is nothing impressive at all.

Spencer said in a cold, stern voice, Noelle.
