Chapter 183 Execute Them All Without Exception
The kitchen maids burst into desperate wails.
“There’s no justice! They mean to kill us in broad daylight!”
‘Did someone accidentally offend the noble guest upstairs? We never even laid eyes on her.”

As the two guards stepped forward with swords drawn, Margaret walked out from her hiding spot at once.
She said, “What noble guest is staying upstairs that she would order the slaughter of so many innocent people for no reason?”
Several acupuncture needles appeared in her hand, her gaze sharp and alert.
Everything had happened far too suddenly. She had no choice but to step forward and face this crisis alone.
The three guards turned around. Two looked utterly confused, while one asked cautiously, “Are you Ms. Campbell from the Prime Minister’s Estate?”
“I am,” Margaret replied calmly. “These people work for me—or more precisely, they are all under Prince Theodore’s protection.”
She put on an unconcerned air, stepping forward slowly and pulling Lisa to her feet.
Then she met the guards‘ eyes directly. “I don’t know what offense they’ve given your mistress, but Prince Theodore’s people are not to be killed at will. Send word to the Ducal Palace right now if you doubt my word.”
These palace servants all served the wealthy and powerful.
She only hoped invoking Theodore’s name would make them hold back.
Just then, a voice drifted down from the staircase. “Why has it taken so long to dispose of these common folk? Are a handful of ordinary peasants really this much trouble…”
The voice trailed off halfway. The speaker caught sight of Margaret and narrowed her eyes meaningfully. “Ms. Campbell? What are you doing here?”
Margaret lifted her head at the familiar voice.
It was none other than Noelle’s personal maid, Joyce Davies.
A frown creased Margaret’s brow, and she instantly understood the whole situation.
No wonder plainclothes guards surrounded the gate, and royal soldiers filled the hall.
Princess Noelle has snuck out of the palace.
She’s always been arrogant and willful, the most notorious spoiled princess in the realm. She orders lives ended without a second thought, and now that she’s outside the palace, she’s even more unrestrained.

Calming her thoughts, Margaret spoke politely. “I didn’t realize Princess Noelle was here. Forgive me for not coming out to greet you sooner.”
Joyce’s eyes flickered thoughtfully. “Do you own this feast hall?”
Margaret thought quickly. “Not exactly. I only manage it on Prince Theodore’s behalf. Didn’t you know? This is one of Prince Theodore’s properties.”
Joyce’s expression turned grim. Unsure how to handle the matter, she turned and hurried back upstairs, presumably to report to Noelle.
Margaret relaxed slightly. At least their lives were safe for the moment.
She could not fathom why Noelle was acting so erratically..
Just then, Lisa tugged gently at her sleeve and whispered nervously, “That’s a real princess? I’m done for… I saw something I shouldn’t have.”
She shrank timidly behind Margaret.
Margaret looked confused. “What did you see?”
Lisa lowered her voice to a breathless murmur. “Her people rushed in earlier and cleared out all the guests. Just as she was heading upstairs, I happened to glance up and saw her dress suddenly stained red right there on the staircase.
“It seems like she suddenly got her period. I was about to step forward and warn her, but her maid noticed first and hurried her straight upstairs.
“I thought I could just pretend I saw nothing. I never expected them to surround the whole hall afterward. It’s over. She’s Princess Noelle, and I witnessed her most embarrassing moment. I’m surely going to be
killed.”
She hid further behind Margaret after pouring out her fear in one rush.
