Chapter 184 Keep the Secret Hidden
Her words were no sooner spoken than fresh wails of terror broke out.

Margaret stepped calmly toward the stairs. “Princess Noelle has slipped out of the palace in plain clothes. The townsfolk have no idea of her identity. Even if they somehow offended her, it does not warrant their lives. These are all innocent commoners. Would she dare let King Spencer learn to treat human life so lightly?”
“Margaret!” A sharp, youthful voice snapped from upstairs. “Who are you to meddle in my affairs? Get out of my way, or I’ll have you killed, too.”
At the same time, Joyce stepped forward to block Margaret’s path. “How dare you! Do you know Princess Noelle is upstairs, yet you still climb these stairs?”
Margaret silently flicked an acupuncture needle. In an instant, Joyce froze rigid in place.
She tried to reach out and stop Margaret, only to find her limbs completely drained of strength. She slumped helplessly onto the steps.
Joyce stared at Margaret in disbelief. “What… What have you done to me?”
Meanwhile, the three guards downstairs prepared to move in.
Before they could react, Margaret tossed a handful of needles in one swift motion, dropping all three to the ground, overcome by a numbing poison.
The staff kneeling below stared wide–eyed, staring at Margaret with utter amazement.
Only Lisa remained calm, having already witnessed Margaret’s extraordinary skill before.
Seeing the three guards collapse without warning, Joyce panicked completely. “You… You use hidden weapons? What have you done to me? How dare you lay a hand on Princess Noelle’s people?”
Her voice grew weak and breathless.
Margaret simply stepped past her and climbed the stairs unhurriedly. “Rest easy. I’ve only put you all into a temporary slumber. You’ll recover fully in a moment.”
Joyce’s eyes went wide. “You have the audacity to harm even Princess Noelle’s attendants?”
“You all had the audacity to kill Prince Theodore’s people,” Margaret retorted coldly. “I mean no harm to you, nor would I ever dare disrespect Princess Noelle’s authority. But I manage this feast hall on Prince Theodore’s behalf. I cannot stand idly by while you slaughter everyone here. At the very least, Princess Noelle owes me an explanation.”
Joyce fumed with rage. “You speak utter nonsense! Prince Theodore’s wealth rivals that of a kingdom. He could never care about one trivial feast hall. He owns countless properties across Breston. Do not think you can flaunt his favor and act arrogant. Prince Theodore detests those who trade on his name to bully others. If you anger Princess Noelle by using his reputation, you’ll lose your head yet.”
Margaret smiled faintly, “If Prince Theodore wishes to punish me, I shall accept it without complaint. But

With that, Margaret reached the second floor and walked toward the private chamber where the voice had come from.
Joyce called after her anxiously, “Stop right there! To intrude on Princess Noelle is a death sentence!
“Margaret! Step inside, and you’ll never leave alive!”
Ignoring the warnings, Margaret pushed the chamber door open.
The moment it swung open, a cup came flying straight at her forehead. “Get out! Leave at once!”
Margaret had no time to dodge. The cup struck her forehead, leaving a bright red mark.
The cup shattered loudly on the floor, yet she quietly closed the door and gave Noelle a formal, respectful bow. “Greetings, Princess Noelle.”
It was an elegant private chamber for noble guests, modest in size with only a table set by the window.
Noelle huddled trembling in the corner, her back pressed to the window, clutching a honey water pot tightly in her hand.
She hurled the pot straight at Margaret. “Spare me your formalities! Get out! I forbid you from staying here!”
Warm water splashed all over Margaret’s clothes.
She lifted her head with calm dignity. “I cannot leave while you mean to kill so many innocent people. I demand a reason.”
Margaret could not admit she already knew about Noelle’s first menstrual period. That would only make Noelle more determined to kill everyone to keep the secret hidden.
She had to pretend she’d stumbled upon it by chance.
