Chapter 241 Her Head Spun Wildly
Margaret frowned.
If I can’t catch him off guard with a surprise strike, I stand no chance against him in raw strength.

My hands are pinned down right now, and I can’t even reach into my storage space to get the antidote. Damn it.
Christopher said, “Stop shouting. That maid of yours was knocked out by my scent long ago. Your chambers are tucked away in a quiet corner–there are barely any servants nearby. The few who were around have all been subdued by my men. Your father and brother are both away from the estate, and even if they weren’t, they’re far too distant to reach you in time. No one will come to interrupt us tonight.”
As he spoke, Christopher slid his free hand down to rest on her waist.
His warm breath brushed against her ear, leaving Margaret in unbearable distress.
Margaret said, “Crown Prince Christopher, please come to your senses. What you’re doing is wrong. I truly don’t have feelings for you anymore–why must you force this upon me?”
Christopher snapped sharply, “I won’t listen to another word of that. You will only ever love me for the rest of your life. You belong to me, and no one else.”
He roughly tore open her belt and sank his teeth gently into her shoulder. “You smell incredible. I want to have you right now, Margaret. I know you’ve been waiting for this, too+it’s never easy to forget someone you once loved. I’ve finally faced my true feelings, and I’ll make you face yours as well. Once you know the joy of being with me, you’ll fall for me all over again.”
Margaret struggled fiercely, her voice full of revulsion. “Let go of me! How can you be so repulsive? Can you not understand a single word I say? Get away from me!”
The wooden window crashed open with a loud bang.
A dark figure leaped straight into the room, then kicked Christopher hard enough to send him sprawling onto the floor.
It was Baxter.
The chamber door swung open wide. A gust of wind blew in and snuffed out the only burning candle. Margaret didn’t spare a glance behind her and fled straight outside.
I can’t believe I messed up this badly just from drinking wine for the first time. I’m never drinking alone again.
Christopher roared furiously from inside the room, “Seize her!”
The moment his words fell, several secret guards suddenly appeared in the middle of the courtyard.
They stepped forward respectfully to block Margaret’s path, ready to grab her without hesitation. Baxter rushed out of the room at once and stepped firmly in front of Margaret to shield her.
He urged, “Ms. Campbell, run quickly. I’ll hold them off.”
With that, he charged straight at the group of secret guards.

The two sides broke into a fierce fight in an instant. Margaret had no time to watch the struggle. She turned and ran straight out of the courtyard.
Christopher chased after her out of the chamber, his voice sharp and hurt. “Margaret, do you really intend to keep running away from me like this?”
Margaret ignored his words completely and sprinted toward the outer street as fast as she could.
As she ran, she pulled a pill from her storage space and popped it into her mouth right away.
Her private courtyard was close to the back gate, so she fled out of Prime Minister’s Estate through it without delay.
She should head for a crowded area–there were still plenty of servants inside the estate.
But then again, the one acting out of line was Christopher.
No servant here would dare stand up to him, not even if they wanted to. No one would risk laying a hand on him.
Running out of the Prime Minister’s Estate was truly her only safe choice.
She ran a long distance down the road, and no one came chasing after her.
Baxter must be keeping them held back.
Thank goodness Baxter was here. Things would’ve ended terribly for me tonight otherwise.
But he’s up against Crown Prince Christopher…
And Christopher brought so many secret guards with him.
Baxter is all alone. If they capture him, the outcome will be unthinkable.
Lost in these worried thoughts, she forced herself to keep moving until she reached the main street.
She left in such a panic that she didn’t even stop to fetch a horse.
The street seemed endless, and she was running far too slowly,
There was no way she could turn back for a horse now.
If Baxter got captured, going back would only lead her straight into a trap,
The night was quiet and empty, with barely a soul left wandering the streets.
Do I have no choice but to ask Prince Theodore for help?
Yes, Prince Theodore is my only option now.
But the Ducal Palace is such a long way from here.
And he went to attend someone’s birthday feast tonight–I have no idea if he’s returned yet.

It was only then that she realized the enchanting incense’s effect inside her body had never faded at all.
A sharp, stabbing pain flared up in her chest.
She never imagined this medieval calming incense could be this powerful.
The dose must be far too strong.
Maybe taking one more antidote will finally clear the effect away.
Margaret fumbled drowsily and pulled another antidote pill out of her storage space. Her hand slipped suddenly, and the pill dropped straight onto the ground.
She dropped to her knees at once to search for it, yet she searched for a long time and found nothing.
Just my luck–when things start to go wrong, nothing goes right.
Margaret never thought she would need this kind of antidote, so she hardly kept any on hand.
She only had two pills to begin with. The first one wasn’t enough to break the spell, and now she had dropped the last one.
Margaret scrambled around on her hands and knees, muttering weakly, “Where is it… Where did it go…”
The pain in her chest felt like it was tearing her apart, as if a ball of fire was burning her up from the inside
out.
It felt less like an enchanting incense and more like a deadly poison draining her strength away.
Her head spun wildly, clouded with dizziness and confusion.
In that moment, she fully understood the truth–she was trapped in a completely strange, unfamiliar world with no easy way out.
