Chapter 50 Be Disgusted by Me?

If he hadn’t passed out. Theodore would have heard them the moment they opened the door.

There was no way he wouldn’t have noticed them coming this close.

Margaret rolled her eyes at him. “Call the royal doctor? I’m right here.”

Cyan froze. “You–your medicine is wrong-”

Margaret pulled up a stool and sat down behind Theodore. She laid out her silver needles one by one. “I told you at the door,” she said calmly. “My medicine is strong. He needs the acupuncture to get through it. Otherwise, he passes out. You didn’t listen.”

She started inserting needles into Theodore’s back, carefully and precisely.

Cyan frowned. “Prince Theodore has unmatched martial skills. His internal energy is deep-”

“I know what you’re saying,” Margaret cut him off. “Prince Theodore is so powerful that no medicine should make him faint, right?”

She shook her head. “But he’s dealing with me.”

He has no idea how strong my prescription is.

Martial skills aside-

e–even a tiger will pass out after soaking in my medicine.

Cyan stood nearby, tense. “Is he going to be okay?”

“Relax,” Margaret said. “He’s not going to die.”

She paused. “But if you had blocked me much longer? That might’ve been a different story.”

Cyan’s face darkened. “You-”

“Shh. Can’t you see I’m doing acupuncture? If you’re that worried, grab a stool and sit down. He’ll wake up soon.” Margaret’s hands moved fast. Within moments, she had inserted several needles.

Cyan stood silently by, not saying another word.

“Go get me a basin of warm water,” Margaret said.

Cyan started to ask why, then saw how focused she was. He left without arguing.

He returned quickly with the water. Margaret told him to pour it into the tub to dilute the medicine.

Then he went back to standing at attention.

Suddenly, Theodore’s fingers twitched.

His hands rested on the sides of the tub, Cyan noticed right away.

But before he could speak, Theodore grabbed Margaret’s wrist. “Who’s there?”

Margaret had been needling his arm. She didn’t have time to react. His grip yanked her forward.

“Ah-!” She nearly fell headfirst into the tub.

Then a large hand closed around her throat.

Water splashed everywhere. Theodore stared at the face inches from his own. He froze–then let go immediately.

“It’s you?” He frowned.

With a splash, Margaret’s whole head went under the water.

“Prince Theodore-” Cyan rushed forward and threw a robe over Theodore’s shoulders. “You’re awake-”

Theodore winced and ripped the robe off.

Needles covered his back and shoulders. The robe had pressed against several of them. The pain almost made him cry out.

Cyan dropped to his knees. “Prince Theodore, forgive me–I-”

“Get out.” Theodore’s voice was thunder.

Cyan fled without another word.

Margaret came up, sputtering. “What is wrong with you?”

She had been doing acupuncture. Then out of nowhere, he grabbed her, choked her, nearly killed her-
