CHAPTER 110 PART 1
Ridge Family Estate – Five-River Province – 2:34 PM
Three luxury vehicles pulled through the massive iron gates of the Ridge Family compound, their engines purring with the confidence that came from knowing these gates would always open. At the center of the convoy, a customized Mercedes S-Class carried Finnian Ridge-only grandson of the Ridge Family patriarch, sole male heir to one of Five-River Province’s most established powers.
Twenty-three years old, Finnian Ridge had never wanted for anything in his entire life. Born into wealth that predated modern banking, raised with the understanding that his surname opened every door and closed every mouth, spoiled beyond reason by grandparents desperate to see their bloodline continue. Talent? Unnecessary when money could buy success. Discipline? Irrelevant when influence could erase consequences. Hard work? A concept for people without trust funds and family connections.
Even the Four Young Masters-Quamaine Potter, Atlas Lancaster, and their peers-showed Finnian respect despite his lack of personal achievement. Not because they feared him, but because antagonizing the Ridge Family’s only heir carried costs that outweighed any satisfaction from putting an arrogant wastrel in his place.
Finnian stepped from his Mercedes wearing designer clothes that cost more than most people’s annual salary, his expression carrying the perpetual smugness of someone who’d never been told “no” in any meaningful way. Behind him, six young men emerged from the other vehicles-his usual entourage of sycophants and hangers-on who lived off his generosity and laughed at his jokes no matter how unfunny.
“Young Master Finnian!” The estate’s head of security-a man named Vincent Chen-rushed forward with obvious distress. “We weren’t expecting you today! If we’d known-”
“Where are the gate guards?” Finnian interrupted, noting the unusual emptiness of the entrance security station.
Vincent’s face reddened with embarrassment. “They’ve been… incapacitated, Young Master. A man and woman arrived thirty minutes ago demanding entry. When the guards refused, they they were overpowered. Beaten unconscious.”
The entourage erupted with indignant outrage, their voices overlapping:
“Someone dared attack Ridge Family security?!”
“In broad daylight?!”
“The audacity!”
But Finnian’s expression transformed from annoyance to predatory interest. “A man and woman? Tell me about the woman.”
Vincent hesitated, clearly uncomfortable. “She was…. exceptionally beautiful, Young Master. Mid-twenties, moved with unusual grace. The man was unremarkable-ordinary appearance, nothing special about him.”
Finnian’s smile widened. “And where are these intruders now?”
“Inside the estate. Butler Harrison is… handling the situation. He said he said they were important guests and insisted on personally escorting them.”
“Important guests who beat our security unconscious?” One of Finnian’s cronies-a heavyset young man named Derek Walsh-laughed mockingly. “That doesn’t sound like guests. That sounds like criminals who need to be taught respect.”
“Exactly,” Finnian agreed, his mind already calculating possibilities. A beautiful woman bold enough to attack

Ridge Family security? That suggested either incredible stupidity or connections he wasn’t aware of. Either way, the situation promised entertainment. “Let’s go welcome our ‘guests’ properly.”
Ridge Estate – Main Residence – Second Floor Study
Truman Ridge-the elderly steward who’d served the Ridge Family for forty years-nearly dropped his tea when his assistant burst into the study with urgent news.
“Sir! Marcus Steel has arrived at the estate!”
Truman’s hands trembled with sudden excitement. Marcus Steel. The Young Master of the Ten Thousand Mountain Alliance. The Dragon King himself, though that title could never be spoken aloud in ordinary company.
For weeks, Truman had been cultivating connection with Marcus through careful intermediation-providing resources, offering protection, demonstrating the Ridge Family’s value without being obsequious. The goal was simple: secure the family’s future by aligning with forces that made ordinary wealth and influence seem trivial by comparison.
And now Marcus Steel had come to the estate voluntarily. This was an opportunity Truman couldn’t afford to
waste.
“Prepare the Moonlight Jade,” Truman ordered immediately. “The one from the vault-the piece we’ve been saving for the Patriarch’s seventieth birthday. Wrap it properly. I want to present it to the Young Master as a gesture of sincere respect.”
“Sir, the Patriarch-”
“Will understand,” Truman interrupted firmly. “Securing Young Master Steel’s favor is worth more than any birthday gift. Now hurry!”
As the assistant scrambled to obey, Truman’s mind raced through possibilities. If he could forge a connection between Finnian Ridge and Marcus Steel-if the family’s heir could become even peripherally associated with the Dragon King’s network-the Ridge Family’s status would skyrocket beyond anything achievable through normal
means.
He pulled out his phone and called the head butler. “Harrison? Young Master Steel is here. I need you to have Young Master Finnian host him temporarily while I prepare a proper welcome. Make sure—”
