Saintess's Worthless Husband Turned Dragon Commander novel Chapter 118

CHAPTER 109 PART 2

“Is it?” Karen advanced on Quinn, her finger jabbing toward her daughter. “You’re so blind! So desperate to believe he loves you that you ignore obvious signs! Now he’s bringing his women HOME, flaunting his infidelity in front of your family!”

“I said that’s ridiculous,” Marcus repeated, his dragon aura beginning to pulse with irritation.

“And I say you’re finally showing your true colors!” Karen’s voice rose to a shout. “You got money-somehow, from somewhere–and now you think you’re too good for the people who tolerated you for three years! You think you can disrespect this family! Replace my daughter with younger, prettier-”

“ENOUGH.” Quinn’s voice carried that inhuman authority that made even Karen falter. Her Saintess aura exploded outward in golden light that made the room’s shadows dance. “Marcus. Look at me.”

Marcus met his wife’s eyes-cold, indifferent, but underneath that, searching. Testing. Trusting but needing confirmation.

“Is there anything improper between you and this woman?” Quinn asked directly.

“No,” Marcus said simply. His dragon aura reached out instinctively, intertwining with her Saintess energy in that harmonious resonance that proved their bond went deeper than suspicion or doubt.

Quinn held his gaze for three heartbeats. Then she turned to face her mother.

“Cosmo is my sister now,” Quinn declared, her voice carrying absolute finality. “She’s family. Anyone who disrespects her disrespects me. Anyone who bullies her answers to me. Is that clear?”

“Quinn, you can’t seriously—”

“Is. That, Clear.”

Karen’s protest died under the weight of divine authority radiating from her daughter. She’d never seen Quinn like this-cold fire instead of submissive duty, unwavering certainty instead of desperate need for approval.

“Fine,” Karen said weakly. “But don’t come crying to me when-”

“I won’t,” Quinn interrupted. “Now if you’ll excuse me, it’s late. I’m going to bed. Marcus, please help Cosmo get settled in one of the guest rooms.”

She walked past her mother without another word, her Saintess aura blazing a trail of golden light up the stairs,

Marcus turned to follow, but not before addressing the room one final time. “Federico, Emeric-you’ll be sleeping in the living room tonight. There’s a couch. Figure it out.”

“What?!” Emeric’s voice carried indignant fury. “You can’t-we need proper rooms

“You destroyed my bedroom,” Marcus said coldly. “Trashed my things. Used my computer without permission, You’re fortunate I’m letting you stay in the house at all.”

He left without waiting for responses, Cosmo following silently behind him.

Third Floor Guest Room – 1:23 AM

Marcus closed the door to Cosmo’s assigned room, his dragon senses confirming no one was eavesdropping. Then he turned to face his disciple with an expression that made her instinctively straighten.

“Your family is very… chaotic,” Cosmo ventured carefully.

“They’re not my family,” Marcus corrected. “They’re Quinn’s relatives who’ve invaded our home. There’s a difference.”

“Is Quinn your wife? Actually your wife?”

“Yes.”

“A Sacred Saintess married to-” Cosmo caught herself before saying “the Dragon King” aloud. “-to you. Interesting choice.”

“Cosmo,” Marcus said quietly, “you’re far too intelligent to accidentally call yourself my sworn sister. That was deliberate. Why?”

Cosmo tried to deflect. “Master, I was just trying to

A silver needle appeared between Marcus’s fingers, glowing faintly with dragon energy. He didn’t throw it, didn’t threaten overtly, but the message was clear.

Cosmo sighed, her carefully maintained disguise cracking to show genuine emotion underneath. “I obtained intelligence on you before coming. Detailed intelligence. About your life here. About how they treated you.”

Her voice carried suppressed fury that three years of separation couldn’t diminish. “They called you worthless. Mocked you. Made you sleep on couches and serve them like a servant. The Dragon King-MY master-reduced to a ridiculed live-in son-in-law who contributed nothing!”

“Cosmo-”

“I was angry!” Her voice rose despite herself. “I’ve spent three years searching for you! Three years following dead ends and rumors, terrified you were dead or worse! And when I finally find you-when I discover Marcus Steel is actually you—I learn you’ve been suffering quiet humiliation from people too stupid to recognize what stands before them!”

Tears glimmered in her eyes, threatening to fall despite her legendary composure. “You’re supposed to be invincible. Peerless. The figure I looked up to since childhood. And they they treated you like garbage.”
