Saintess's Worthless Husband Turned Dragon Commander novel Chapter 189

CHAPTER 146 PART 1

The cold autumn wind swept through Northern Bay Park, carrying with it the scent of impending violence. Marcus Steel stood in the center of the abandoned construction site, hands casually tucked in his pockets, his dragon aura barely contained beneath his calm exterior. Around him, Cesar Pendleton’s men formed a tight circle, their weapons gleaming under the dim streetlights.

Cesar stepped forward, his face twisted with satisfaction. “Well, well. Look at the big man now. Not so tough without your little tricks, are you?”

Marcus’s lips curved into a slight smile. “You really think this is enough?”

“Enough?” Cesar barked out a laugh. “I’ve got thirty men here, all armed, all ready to make you bleed. What do you have? That smart mouth of yours?”

“More than you can imagine,” Marcus replied, his voice quiet but carrying an edge that made several of Cesar’s men shift uncomfortably.

Cesar’s face darkened. “You humiliated me in front of everyone. Made me look like a fool. Now it’s your turn.” He pointed at his expensive leather shoes. “Get on your knees and lick them clean. Maybe I’ll let you walk away with just a few broken bones.”

Marcus didn’t move. His dragon eyes swept across the surrounding men with complete indifference. “You’re really that stupid, aren’t you? You think I walked into this blind?”

“Big talk from a dead man,” Cesar snarled. “Boys, grab him-”

The words died in his throat.

From every direction-the shadows between half-built structures, the darkness beyond the construction barriers, even from behind Cesar’s own vehicles-figures emerged. Hundreds of them. All dressed in identical black suits, moving with military precision, their footsteps creating an ominous rhythm that echoed through the empty park.

Within seconds, Cesar’s thirty men found themselves surrounded by what looked like an army. The newcomers said nothing, their faces expressionless as they formed a second, much larger circle around the entire area.

One of Cesar’s lieutenants, a scarred man named Rick, stepped forward aggressively. “Who the hell do you think you are? Do you know who we work for? Cesar Pendleton doesn’t-”

A black-suited man moved faster than Rick could react. The slap across his face sounded like a gunshot, sending Rick sprawling to the ground. Before he could recover, two more men grabbed him and forced him to his knees.

“Speak when spoken to,” the man said coldly.

Rick’s face went white. “You… you’re making a huge mistake! Mr. Pendleton has connections all over Five-River Province! When he-”

Another slap, harder this time. Blood trickled from Rick’s mouth.

“Did I say you could speak?” The black-suited man’s voice was like ice.

Cesar’s confidence began to crack. He looked around at the sea of disciplined men, his earlier bravado evaporating. “Who sent you? I don’t care how many men you have-I’m connected to the Abbott family! You attack me, and Miguel Abbott himself will-”

“Will what?”
