Saintess's Worthless Husband Turned Dragon Commander novel Chapter 192

CHAPTER 147 PART 2

A tall young man with slicked-back hair and an expensive watch stepped forward. “Don’t play dumb with us, Steel. We know what you did.”

Marcus’s eyebrow raised slightly. “Do you?”

“You took advantage of her,” a young woman accused. “She was vulnerable, scared, and you—

“Took advantage?” Marcus’s voice cut through like ice. “Is that what you think happened?”

Simeon’s eyes narrowed. “Elize wouldn’t willingly throw away her entire future for some nobody she just met. You must have manipulated her, pressured her-”

“Manipulated her?” Marcus actually laughed, the sound devoid of humor. “Your friend played dress-up in a bunny costume and practically threw herself at me. I was the one who kept saying no.”

The slicked-back young man-Brandon Chen-stepped forward aggressively. “Watch your mouth. You’re talking about my friend’s reputation.”

“Then maybe your friend should have thought about her reputation before making a spectacle of herself,” Marcus replied coldly. “I’m not her babysitter.”

“You arrogant piece of—” Brandon lunged forward, swinging a fist at Marcus’s face.

Marcus sidestepped with dragon-enhanced reflexes, caught Brandon’s wrist, and twisted. The young man yelped as he was forced to his knees, his arm bent at an unnatural angle.

“Let him go!” Simeon shouted.

“Gladly.” Marcus released him with a slight push that sent Brandon sprawling onto the pavement. “Next time, think before you attack someone.”

Brandon scrambled to his feet, his face red with humiliation and rage. “You think you’re tough? You have no idea who you’re messing with!”

“Let me guess,” Marcus said dryly. “You’re going to call your daddy? Your big brother? Some connected friend who’ll make me regret this?”

“Actually-” Brandon pulled out his phone, his hands shaking with anger. “I’m calling someone who’ll teach you what happens when you disrespect the elite families of Five-River Province.”

Marcus’s dragon eyes gleamed with amusement. “By all means. Call whoever you want.”

Simeon grabbed Brandon’s arm. “Don’t. This isn’t-”

“No, let him,” Marcus interrupted. “I’m curious to see who he thinks can intimidate me.”

Brandon shook off Simeon’s grip and dialed, turning away slightly as someone answered. “Derek? Yeah, it’s me. I need you to bring some guys down to Riverside and Fifth. There’s someone here who needs to be taught a lesson.” He glanced back at Marcus with vicious satisfaction, “Tall guy, white shirt, thinks he’s untouchable. Yeah. Yeah, that’s the one. Hurry,”

He ended the call and smirked. “You’ve got about ten minutes before Derek Yang gets here with his crew. Still feeling confident?”

Marcus checked his watch with deliberate casualness. “Derek Yang. Let me guess-some mid-level enforcer who thinks he’s dangerous because he’s connected to one of the minor families?”

“He’s connected to the Lancaster family,” Brandon shot back. “And he doesn’t take kindly to outsiders who don’t know their place.”

“The Lancaster family.” Marcus’s smile widened slightly. “This should be interesting.”

Simeon looked between them, her expression conflicted. “Marcus, maybe you should just go. Derek Yang isn’t someone to mess with. He’s violent, unpredictable-”
