Scarlett
Chapter 104
Clay’s POV
Elsa sighed, a deep sadness lining her face. “Poor girl had to endure too much. Any sensible wolf would have fled given the slightest opportunity My grandmother warned your parents not to pass that kider law–she saw this coming. I was just a child, but I remember her words to your father, warning that it would lead to great calamity. Maybe this is what she means. The Elders‘ decision to turn against your Luna, to deny her humanity, has sparked a dark change. The shift in the wind, that darkness it began with this unjust trial. You sent Gregory away, but they wouldn’t let her go. There are those in your council who can’t stand the idea of you being tied to a Vladislav. This what happens when wolves try to play god,” she said, shaking her head in frustration.
Her words hit me hard, stirring anger and regret in my chest. The Elders–the very ones we were supposed to trust–had het only failed us but had actively sabotaged us. I felt the weight of their betrayal, the realization that this was a burden inherited from our parents‘ choices, choices that had been warned against.
“We need to find her, Elsa,” I said, my voice a plea. I dropped to my knees, desperation clouding every other thought. “Please help us.”
Elsa looked down at me, her gaze steady and wise, but her expression stayed cautious. “And when you find her? What then?” she asked, her tone laced with challenge. “You still have your Elders, your pack, to answer to. Do you think they’ll simply accept her?”
“We’ll wipe them out if we have to,” Lucian’s voice cut through the silence, fierce and unyielding. “They’ve lived long enough, and if they stand in our way,
they’ll pay the price.”
Elsa let out a dry laugh, her eyes gleaming with a hint of dark amusement. “And so it begins,” she murmured, leaning forward. “But you can’t simply kill them, Lucian. You need their support for what’s coming. There’s a war on the horizon, and you’ll need every ally you can find. The goddess has her ways, her own plan. The Elders who’ve harmed you will pay for it, but they’ll fall in the battle ahead, not by your hand. Let her handle her own mess.”
Her words left a chill in the room, a sense of ominous purpose. Elsa motioned for us to sit, and we did so quickly, hanging onto every word.
She looked at us,
her eyes flicking over the marks on our necks, symbols of our bond with Scarlett. “I can see you’re fully mated,” she noted, her gaze lingering on the marks. There was no judgment in her voice, only a soft curiosity.
“Link your hands,” Elsa instructed, her voice steady and calm. “Let me use your bond to search for her.”
I took Maxwell’s hand, and he reached out to hold Lucian’s. Then, Lucian and I each took one of Elsa’s hands, completing the circle. She closed her eyes and began to hum, a haunting, low sound that seemed to pull the very air around us into a stillness. I focused on Scarlett, picturing her face, willing the bond to reach her, to pull her back to us.
After several long minutes, Elsa released our hands, her expression solemn as she bowed her head. My heart sank immediately, dread pooling in my stomach.
“The spirits do not want us to find her,” she murmured, her voice tinged with regret. “I’m sorry.”
“Why?” Lucian’s voice was barely a whisper, the despair raw and unhidden in his eyes.
Elsa’s gaze was firm, unflinching.
“To protect her,” she replied, her tone almost scolding. “Apparently, the three of you failed in that department.” She leaned forward, her eyes intense. “All I could see was that Scarlett is important–more than you know. She’s on a journey of self–discovery, a path that will define her future, and she must walk it alone, Right now, she’s a blank page, waiting for the world to write upon her. What she encounters will shape her, and that will decide which side she
chooses in the end.”

Chapter 104
Her mida stung, cutting deeper than I wanted to admit. Scarlett was meant to grow, to become something we hadn’t seen in her yet. And out interference, mur failures, had almost stolen that from her.
Elsa’s voice softened as she continued, “As far you three, I suggest you brace yourselves. A war is brewing, and it will come from every side. With Nikolay gone, the true evil that he held at bay is rising”

now they will find out that Nicholas wasn’t the ruthless alpha they tht he was. I kind of had a feeling they misjudged him and for his sacrifices they killed him.
