Chapter 125

Scarlett’s POV

The day of the event arrived quickly, and when Keith handed me the gown, I was speechless. It was a stunning, backless royal blue dress adorned with intricate pearls and tiny diamonds that sparkled as if holding stars within them. I had never worn anything so elegant, so luxurious, and I felt like someone new as I slipped into it. Standing in front of the mirror, I could hardly recognise myself. I lookedbeautiful. For the first time in what felt like forever, I felt like I belonged somewhere, like I deserved to be seen.

As I stepped out of the closet, my breath caught. Keith stood waiting in a midnight blue tuxedo that complemented my dress perfectly. He looked like a dream every bit the Alpha he was a man whose presence commanded respect and admiration. His blue eyes were as deep and intense as ever, a gaze that seemed to look right into my soul.

You look beautiful,he said, his voice soft yet filled with something that made my heart race. I couldn’t stop the smile that spread across my face.

He extended his hand, and I placed mine in his, feeling a rush of warmth as he led me out of the bedroom with such care. He treated me like a queen, like someone precious, and it gave me butterflies. There was a gentle, undeniable spark between us, one I had tried hard to ignore, but tonight was impossible.

In the car ride to the venue, I kept finding myself stealing glances at him, mesmerized by the strong line of his jaw, the way his gaze remained focused and confident. Every now and then, he’d glance at me with a soft smile, and it made my pulse quicken. I couldn’t remember a time I’d felt so seen, so respected, socherished. Keith was unlike any man I had known, and it made my heart swell with gratitude. I silently thanked fate for leading me here, for bringing me to him, a man who treated me with love and respect in a way I’d never thought possible.

When we arrived at the event, the room fell silent. Keith was their Alpha, after all, and his presence commanded respect. The grand hall was stunning, an image of opulence and refinement. Chandeliers cast a warm, golden glow over the polished floors and lavish furniture, creating an atmosphere of elegance and sophistication. This evening was everything I’d imagined and more, and as I looked around, I felt honoured to be by his side, welcomed and valued in his world.

In that moment, standing beside him with eyes on us, I felt like I’d found something I’d been searching for all my life.

As we were led to our table, the room buzzed with curiosity and admiration for Keith.

People gathered, lining up to greet him with reverence, and I watched as his presence commanded attention. The first in line were an Alpha and his Luna from one of the neighboring packs. His name was Abraham Boyce, and his Luna, Ciara, looked at me with a harshness that couldn’t be mistaken. It was clear she had a history with Keith, and whatever it was, it made her look at me with a disdain I could practically feel.

Good evening, Alpha Keith,Abraham said, casting a warm smile toward Keith but glancing at me as if I were invisible, someone too insignificant for his

attention. I wasn’t bothered, though. As long as Keith was beside me, the opinions of others didn’t touch me.

But Keith’s response surprised me. Don’t you know how to greet?he asked sharply, and the confidence in his voice made Alpha Abraham falter. With a

slight hesitation, Abraham looked at me, his gaze uncertain.

Meet Scarlett Vladislav, my future Luna,Keith said, his voice steady, each word a declaration. My heart stopped. He had just told everyone here, everyone who mattered, that he intended for me to stand by his side. His hand found my thigh beneath the table, and I could feel his strength and his certainty

through that single touch. I was stunned, speechless, unable to say anything as the gravity of his words sank in.

Alpha Abraham’s eyes widened as he looked at me with fresh recognition. Nikolay Vladislav?he asked, as if confirming something significant. Keith nodded, and, in that instant, I saw a shift in Abraham’s expression. He looked at me with newfound respect, even a hint of awe. To him. I wasn’t just anyone -1 was the daughter of a man whose legacy still held weight in the West. While Lucian, Maxwell, and Clay had dismissed my father’s lineage, here it seemed

to mean something. And that, oddly enough, felt good.

Chapter 125

Felt pang of shame for the love I’d once given so freely to my uld mates, men who had ultimately discarded me. I had let them break me, let myself fall tu pieces in their hands. But here, with Keith’s hand steady on my thigh, I allowed myself to reach for his, resting my fingers over his. This was my silent promise to try, to give him a chance. He had already proven himself in ways I hadn’t dared to hope. In the North, I couldn’t be myself. Here, I was free, allowed to breathe, to be who truly was. I would guard My heart, protect the fragile pieces that remained, but I was ready to let Keith inif only a little.

In so many ways, my life had been a train of disasters. I had lost everything that had once made me whole my joy, my innocence, my trust, even my dreams. I had been left stripped, empty, a hollow shell. But sitting beside Reith, feeling his steady presence and unwavering support, I thought that maybe ! could begin to fill that emptiness, to rebuild on my own tengs

The rest of the evening passed with warmth and laughter. As more guess came forward to greet us, I was welcomed with respect, no longer a shadow in the corner but someone who belonged. Keith and I danced together through most of the night, his arms wrapped around me, his eyes on mine, and for the first time, I felt cherished, loved in a way I had thought impossible.

But then, in the middle of a slow turn, my gaze caught a face across the rooma face I hadn’t seen in so long, one I thought I’d escaped. My heart hammered as a familiar, hot rage flared within me. There, standing with that smug look of selfimportance, was Gregory Olsen, the man who had shattered my life, who had taken from me everything I had fought so hard to protect.

My eyes locked onto him, and my vision narrowed, all the old wounds tearing open. This was the man who had stolen my peace, who had left scars that ran deeper than any wound. I felt Keith’s arms tighten around me as if sensing my turmoil, but I couldn’t look away from Gregory. Not now, not after all this time.
