Scarlett
Chapter 127-
Scarlett’s POV
Every fiber of my being wanted to strike him down, to make him feel even a fraction of what he’d put me through.
Before Geoffrey could mutter another insincere word, two helty men appeared and seized him, dragging him away from the crowd and out of sight. I barely had time to process what was happening before Keith gently wrapped his arm around me, guiling me back to our table, his touch grounding me.
“You can do as you wish with him,” he murmured, his voice low yet reassuring. “He’ll be locked up in the dungeon, waiting for whatever justice you decide. Let’s not let that bastard ruin our night.” I looked up at him, stunned by his loyalty.
He was willing to imprison one of his own to honour what I’d been through, to make sure I felt seen and protected.
In Redcape, Lucian and the others had always defended their pack above all else, turning a blind eye to crimes if it meant protecting their reputation or keeping the peace. No one had ever been held accountable, especially not for what they’d done to me. But Keith was different. Keith put me first, my pain and my dignity above everything else. I could feel a newfound warmth spreading in my chest, a trust I hadn’t expected.
As we settled back at the table, I placed my hand on its polished surface, and that’s when I noticed the faint smear of blood. I looked down and saw that my fingers weren’t quite my own; where nails should have been, there were claws, dark and sharp. Keith’s eyes followed mine, but instead of worry, he only smiled, a glint of pride in his eyes.
“Come on. Let’s go home,” he said softly, his voice filled with an understanding that cut through my
confusion.
“What about the event?” I asked, glancing at the crowd, who were slowly returning to their dancing and conversation. Keith gave me a gentle smile.
“They’ll be fine,” he said with a hint of amusement. “They’ll dance, socialise, then go on the Full Moon Walk. You haven’t shifted yet, so there’s no need for us to stay. Let’s go home, Scarlett. I think… I think your wolf is close.”
His words sent a thrill through me, quickly replaced by a flicker of fear. I’d always been told I would never shift, that something in me was broken, incomplete. But now, looking at the claws that had replaced my nails, I couldn’t deny the truth any longer.
“Not tonight,” he reassured me, his voice soothing. “But soon. Your wolf is coming.” His certainty left no room for doubt, and for once, I allowed myself to
believe it.
We left the grand hall, returning to the mansion as Keith’s familiar scent wrapped around me, comforting and intoxicating. Yet tonight, it wasn’t just
r comforting; it was overwhelming, filling my senses with a fierce intensity. I tried to tamp down the strange heat building within me, but it grew stronger,
my skin. like a fire spreading under
“Step on it, Phil,” Keith commanded the driver, his tone urgent, though I wasn’t sure why. My mind felt hazy, my body like it was caught in a strange, heated pulse.
“Did you ever go into heat with your mates?” Keith’s voice cut through the fog, his gaze intense, searching. My vision blurred, and I could barely keep my thoughts straight, but I managed a small shake of my head.
His eyes softened with a glimmer of something hopeful. “Can you pick up my scent?”
“Agarwood,” I whispered, the name slipping from my lips as though it had been waiting there all along. His expression shifted, a flash of surprise and understanding crossing his face, and I knew that I had touched on something significant.
But the fire continued to grow, a deep ache settling low in my belly, spreading warmth that was both unbearable and irresistible. My skin felt too tight, my

pulse drumbeat that seemed to echo through every inch of my brody I pressed my thighs together, desperate to ease the ache but finding no relief.
I was burning–inside and out.
I could feel the bond to my old mates tugging at me, faint but insistent, like a distant echo. But a new, stronger connection had formed, tethering me to Keith, pulling harder and more fiercely than anything I had ever felt. The intensity of it overwhelmed me, drowning out every thought except the need
coursing through me.
“Keith,” I gasped, my voice barely more than a breathless moan as I parted my legs, trying to ease the searing heat consuming me. Keith’s eyes darkened with understanding, and he didn’t hesitate.
“Step on it, Phil!” he barked to the driver, his tone urgent as he pulled me into his arms, pressing his mouth to mine in a kiss that made the world fade away. His hand moved between my thighs, fingers slipping beneath my panties, and when he entered me, I slung to him desperately, feeling the sharp edges of my claws against his shirt. Every touch sent another wave of need through me, as if his very presence was the only thing that could quench the fire building inside.
“Keith…” I moaned, my voice thick with need as he leaned in closer, unbothered by the fact that I was gripping him so tightly, scratching him in my frenzy. “The private park, now!” he commanded the driver, and I vaguely registered that we might not even make it home.
“Keith…” I said again, needing him in ways I hadn’t known I could. He reached down, letting me tear his shirt open, and my claws left faint red lines across his chest, but he didn’t flinch, his gaze holding mine with a primal hunger.
“We’re almost home, Alpha,” Phil called out from the front. “Should I still head to the park?” Keith’s growl was his only answer, a sound so raw it made my pulse spike even higher.
