Scarlett’s POW
The guards moved quickly, stripping Stasia of her clothing, preparing her for the punishmen. I turned away, unable to watch as the scene unfolded. My chest lightened, and tears pricked my eyes. When they had done this to me, it had been under the cover of night. This was different-broad daylight, under
the eyes of everyone.
Her sobs filled the air, harsh and pitiful, and I clenched my fists, trying to hold steady. Memories of my own punishment flooded back: the humiliation, the
tears, the sense of betrayal. But I reminded myself I was a victim. Stasia wasn’t. She had schemed, betrayed, and tried to destroy me. She deserved no
sympathy, no mercy.
Still, the sight was unbearable. “I want to go inside,” I said quietly, my voice barely audible. I couldn’t stand there any longer. The femory of my own punishment and the knowledge of what she had done collided in my mind, making it impossible to stay. Lucian nodded but didn’t speak, his jaw clenched as
he watched her punishment continue.
“Lucian! Please!” Stasia’s voice rang out, desperate and pleading. “Please don’t leave me here! Please!”
Her cries echoed behind us as I began to walk away, but Lucian didn’t turn back. His face was hard, his anger barely contained. I could tell he wasn’t just doing this for me-he was doing this for himself, for the pack, for the justice he believed we deserved.
When it had been me, his eyes had been filled with sadness and pain, tears threatening to fall as he watched helplessly. But this time, his gaze was hard, his anger evident. There was no sorrow, no regret-only the cold satisfaction of ensuring she faced the consequences of her choices.
We returned to the apartment in silence, the tension still heavy in the air. Lucian headed straight to the shower without a word. I didn’t stop him-i could tell he needed it, needed the water to wash away the weight of everything that had just happened.
I gave him his space, but I couldn’t ignore the turmoil in his eyes, the way his shoulders sagged under the invisible burden he carried.
After a while, I slipped off my clothes and stepped into the shower to join him. The steam was thick, the water cascading down his back, but it did little to ease the torment in his posture.
Without saying a word, I wrapped my arms around him from behind, resting my cheek against his broad, wet back. He tensed at first, then relaxed slightly, his head bowing as if the gesture alone was enough to break him.
He turned to look at me, his expression raw and pained. His voice was low, thick with emotion.
“I’m sorry, Scarlett. I’m so sorry. If I had acted sooner-if I hadn’t been so lenient-none of this would have happened, I failed you. From the moment David brought you here, I failed you.”
I opened my mouth to interrupt, to tell him it wasn’t true, but he shook his head, silencing me.
“There’s no excuse for me,” he continued, his voice cracking. “I became exactly what your seer warned your parents about. I almost ruined us, Scarlett. My actions drove you into the arms of another man, and I can never forgive myself for that. I failed you. I failed us.”
I could see the guilt consuming him, and I knew he wouldn’t stop unless I did something. Gently, I cupped his face and kissed him, pouring all the love and reassurance I could muster into that moment. He froze for a second, then clung to me as if I were the only thing tethering him to this world. He deepened the kiss, desperate, as though trying to drown his guilt in our connection.
When we broke apart, his forehead rested against mine. His voice was a whisper, but it carried the weight of a vow.

Chapter 225
Eli di betaret betay you agais, Scarlett. I swear to you.”
I placed my index finger on his lips, silencing him. “Let it go, Lucian. She won’t come between us anymore. Let this rest, so we can move forward and he together the way we’re meant to be said softly.
Before I could say more, he kissed me again, his lips fierce and consuming.
He pressed me gently against the tiled wall, lifting me as if I weighed nothing. My legs wrapped instinctively around him, my body responding to the
intensity of his touch.
The heat in the shower seemed to spike, and when I opened my eyes, I saw we were surrounded by the glowing orange aura of his magic.
His eyes blazed the same fiery colour, the intensity of his emotions fueling the flames within him.
His kisses trailed down to the spot where his mark rested, igniting a deep ache in my core that demanded his touch. I barely had time to gasp before he drove into me, filling me completely.
His warmth was more intense than usual, his fire blending with my own magic, making my senses hyperaware.
The sensations overwhelmed me, and it wasn’t long before I came undone, crying out as waves of pleasure coursed through me.
But he wasn’t finished. He pulled out, his strength unwavering as he carried me to the bedroom, still dripping wet. He laid me on the bed with reverence, his fiery eyes locking onto mine.
