Scarlett’s POV
I was in the garden meditating, trying to tame the fire element that seemed so eager to flare out of control. As a result of my focus, the wyed element had been acting up, swirling unpredictably around me.
Alison had been a tremendous help, guiding me as I began to understand the individual nature of each magic and how to balance them as a whole Still, my mind felt heavy, burdened by the truths I had uncovered about my parents and the painful legacy they left behind.
I knew I couldn’t dwell in this grief forever. My people needed me, and it was time to embrace the strength and determination of my parents.
They had been fierce and strong, their only flaw being that they cared too much. That flaw, I decided, would become my greatest strength as I worked to finish what my mother had started eighteen years ago.
Lucian’s voice suddenly broke through my thoughts, linking with me.
“Come to the field. I have a gift for you,” he said, his tone carrying an edge of anticipation.
I furrowed my brow, curious. “Be there soon,” I replied, packing up my mat and heading back to the apartment to put it away.
When I reached the field, I immediately noticed the crowd. People were gathered in murmurs, their voices low but buzzing with intrigue. Something was happening. As I approached, the crowd seemed to sense my presence. The murmurs died, and a hush fell over the gathering. They parted silently, creating a
path that led straight to the front.
When I reached the clearing, my breath caught. There she was-Stasia-tied to the very pole I had been tied to. Her head hung low, her face pale, and her
body trembling with the knowledge of what was about to happen.
Lucian stood nearby, his arms crossed, watching me closely. He said nothing, but the expression on his face was clear: he wanted me to see this, to know he
had done this for me. I could tell he hoped I would appreciate this gesture of justice.
I kept my face composed, showing no outward emotion, but inside, anger simmered. Memories I had tried to suppress clawed their way to the surface. I remembered the humiliation of being drugged, the horror of waking up to find that filthy bastard Olsen beside me in bed. The pain of the gossip and lies that followed. The way Stasia had sneered at me, undermined my authority, and disrespected me at every turn.
The audacity of this woman was unmatched. But now, here she was, reduced to nothing, tied up and facing the justice she deserved.

The crowd’s eyes followed me as I walked to the front, my steps deliberate. When I reached Stasia, I didn’t say a word. Instead, I unleashed my anger with a sharp, resounding slap across her face. The sound of the impact echoed, and a collective gasp rippled through the crowd. Blood trickled from the corner of her mouth, a stark contrast against her pale skin. She flinched, her eyes wide with fear and shock.
The slap wasn’t enough to erase what she had done, but it was a start. I stood there, towering over her, my chest rising and falling as I tried to calm the storm within me. I wouldn’t let her see me unravel, but I wanted her to know the depth of my fury and the pain she had caused.
“You are an evil bitch!” I yelled at Stasia, my voice shaking with rage. “You didn’t just set me up-you sold the North out to Garland! You betrayed
everyone!”
The crowd gasped, stunned by the revelation. It was clear Lucian had kept the extent of her crimes from them until now. His hand found mine, pulling me gently to his side, and he addressed the gathered pack with a cold, steady voice.
“Stasia not only plotted against Scarlett, but she betrayed this pack. She sided with Garland, providing him with information that put all of you in danger

“Do as you will, Scarlett,” Martha said, her voice trembling but firm. “Stasia has been a disappointment for a long time. I won’t stand in the way of justic
and I won’t hold this against you. She’s yours to deal with.”
Her words were both permission and a relinquishment. Whatever Happened next would be on my shoulders.
“What do you think is befitting?” I asked Lucian, my voice quieter now.
A grim smile crossed his face. “She’ll make a great spectacle on the stake,” he said coldly.
“And she’ll endure the same punishment the elders gave you-for her crimes against you and the pack. That would be mest fitting.”
