Chapter 49
Scarlett’s POV
My heart was pounding fast, unsure of what Maxwell wanted to do. I felt the cord that tied us tug, and my core ached some more.
He spread my legs and growled, then bent to kiss my folds. No one had ever touched me there before, but the desire I felt took away the awkwardness.
“So wet, Scarlett. Mint,” he said, and I anticipated what he meant by pleasure.

I felt his hot tongue on my mound, and the sensation shot to my head, making me moan louder than ever.
He moved down my slit with his tongue until he reached my entrance. He circled my entrance with his tongue, and my body shuddered. What was he doing to me? I wasn’t in my senses and my body began to move on its own, responding to what he was doing, chasing after something I wasn’t aware of.
“I won’t push in too deep, I promise,” he linked me, and I felt him place his finger in me. I moaned from pleasure, and I felt my core become wetter. My walls were squeezing his finger, wanting to be filled up.
What was he doing to me? Maxwell moved his tongue back to my mound and began to lick and suck it.
“Goddess,” I moaned, trying to handle my feelings. Soon, he increased his speed while probing my core with his finger.
“So tight and sweet, Scarlett. So fucking sweet,” he whispered and growled.
“Mate,” he said, and the pressure began to build up in me.
“Maxwell,” I moaned, unable to handle what he was doing to me.
“Cum for me, Scarlett,” He linked me, and before I could say anything, the pressure exploded in me, giving me a sweet out–of–body
experience; I thought I was going to die.
He returned to the room looking calm, and I smiled at him. Getting into bed with me,

my neck.
Maybe I should have gone all the way with him, but I felt it wasn’t time yet. I felt selfish, but I tried not to overthink it.
“Thank you, Scarlett,” He said and kissed my forehead. Then, he got up to use the bathroom. I did not need to guess what he went
to do.
“Maxwell,” I moaned. My core clenched uncontrollably, and he used his fingers to ease the ache until my body calmed down. He
moved up close to me, and I saw my juices on his lips.
The hairs on my skin stood, and my mound became so sensitive that I began to shake from pure ecstasy. What had he done to
me?

“Thank you for letting me give you your first orgasm, Scarlett,” he said, and I was shy. My nanny had talked about orgasms, but nothing she described came close to what I experienced with Maxwell. I knew I would crave it. It was too good to be a one–time experience.
I did not know when sleep came and carried me away.
When I woke, the bed was empty, but Maxwell’s scent lingered, reassuring me that last night had been real. A grin spread across my face, a rush of happiness I hadn’t felt in a long time. Maxwell had accepted me completely, showing his devotion not only with words but in actions, and I felt a new depth to our bond.
As I stepped into the shower, my thoughts drifted to Clay, Lucian, and Maxwell. Each of them had shown me different parts of themselves, and it dawned on me that our bond was shifting toward something inevitable, something official.,
Sooner or later, they would have to claim me fully to solidify the mate bond, and after what had happened with Maxwell, I couldn’t deny that my heart and body yearned for them more than ever. Still, I wanted to wait until I felt absolutely certain in both trust and
love, knowing that each of us was truly committed.
After a quick breakfast, I went to their apartment, eager to see them. But the place was quiet, empty. Disappointment settled over
me as I looked around the vacant room. With a sigh, I decided to make myself useful, tidying up their apartment to surprise them
when they returned. The simple act grounded me, letting me feel connected to them even in their absence, and I let myself imagine
the life we could share as I went about my small task.
