Chapter 79
Scarlett’s POV
Clay’s playful words echoed in my mind. “Hmmm, I guess you’ll have to convince Lucían because he is losing his mind.” I glanced over to where Lucian sat, his gaze fixed intently on us, a mix of protectiveness and simmering jealousy in his eyes. Sensing the moment, Clay and I danced toward him, and Clay gently let me go, leaving me in Lucian’s arms.
“I hope you’re ready, because I’ll need all my energy to keep up,” I teased, smiling up at him.
Lucian’s growl was low, possessive, and unmistakably jealous. “And what was all that with our guest?” he asked, pulling me close, his voice holding a note of frustration.
“That was me being your Luna and a gracious host,” I said, resting my head against his chest as his arms wrapped around me protectively.
He sighed, his grip tightening. “He gives me the creeps,” he muttered, his words sending a small shiver through me.
“Me too,” I whispered back, laughing softly. He spun me in a twirl, then pulled me back, his chest firm and warm against me.
His voice dropped to a seductive murmur. “I’d take you right here if we were alone,” he teased, his eyes dark with desire.
looked up at him, feeling the heat of his gaze. “Make it happen,” I dared him, my voice barely above a whisper. For a moment, he looked like he might, his eyes searching mine, his breath warm against my cheek. But before we could go further, the spell was broken by an unwelcome interruption.
Gregory approached, his posture confident, his gaze fixed on me as if Lucian weren’t even there. “May I have the honour of a dance with the Luna?” he
asked, his tone polite but his eyes holding that same disconcerting intensity.
Lucian went rigid, and I could feel the tension radiating off him. I placed my hand on his arm, sensing his struggle to remain calm. Smiling as politely as I
could, I turned to Gregory. “Actually, I’m a bit worn out, Gregory. I’ve danced/with my mates, and my feet are killing me. Perhaps some other time.” My voice
was kind but firm, and I made it clear there would be no “other time.”
Gregory hesitated, then nodded and bowed slightly. “Of course, Luna. I understand.” He stepped back, allowing us our space, but I could still feel his gaze lingering. Lucian wasted no time in leading me out of the hall, his hand warm and possessive on my back as he guided me down the corridor into a private
room.
The door closed with a soft click, and before I could say anything, I was in his arms, his mouth crashing down on mine with an urgency that made my heart race. I wrapped my legs around him, pressing close, feeling the need to soothe his jealousy and stake my claim in return. He kisses me fiercely, his hands gripping me tightly, our breaths mingling as we moved together.
In our haste, we didn’t even fully undress; time seemed to stand still as he shifted my panties aside, allowing him to bury himself within me. His movements were intense, claiming, each one a reminder that I was his.
“Mine,” he growled, his voice rough with need. A wave of pleasure overtook me, my mind blurring as I gasped his name, lost in the moment.
We reached our release together, and he let me down gently, brushing a strand of hair from my face as we adjusted our clothes. His smile was warm, filled with pride and satisfaction.
“At this rate, I might end up pregnant, Lucian,” I whispered, half-joking, but the thought warmed something in my heart.
“That would be wonderful,” he replied, his smile broadening, his eyes shining with happiness. I couldn’t help but think back to the time I first arrived in Redcape, uncertain and hesitant. So much had changed, and I was endlessly grateful for it.
