Chapter 78

Scarlett’s POV

Gregory approached me with a smooth, almost predatory air, his blue eyes focused intently on me. “How do you like it here, Luna?” he asked. He was a striking man-red hair, muscular build, and around Lucian’s age-but there was something unsettling in his gaze. He was undeniably handsome, but I felt n attraction toward him. If anything, his attention made me easy, as if there were more behind his words than he let on.

“It’s amazing,” I replied, keeping my tone light, polite. He gave a small nod, his eyes searching mine as if he were trying to unravel something hidden within

Trouble help but laugh softly. “Jealous, are we?” I teased back.

He inhaled slowly, his chest rising and falling against me. “How could I be when you bear my mark, and I yours?” His words, filled with confidence and devotion, made me hold onto him a title tighter. Being in Maxwell’s arms, feeling his love radiate around me, was pure bliss. This was my heaven, my haven, and I wanted nothing more than to stay in this perfect moment.

“May I cut in?” Clay’s voice interrupted softly, and Maxwell released me with a smile, stepping aside as Clay took my hand, guiding me seamlessly into his arms. Maxwell returned to his seat, watching us with a contest smile.

As we moved, Clay’s eyes sparkled with a knowing look. “You know, your conversation with Gregory was getting Lucian all worked up. He thinks Gregory has caught your interest,” he said, his tone light but laced with a hint of seriousness.

I laughed, shaking my head. “Lucian has nothing to worry about. Gregory gives me the creeps. I’m just trying to be polite and play the role of a good host,” 1 explained.

Clay let out a relieved sigh, pulling me closer as we continued to sway. “Good,” he murmured. “Because I don’t think Lucian would be able to hold back if he thought you were the least bit interested. His wolf is barely tolerating Gregory’s presence as it is.”

I giggled, finding comfort in Clay’s gentle touch. He always knew how to make me feel understood and grounded, even when tensions ran high. As we

danced, the room around us seemed to fade away, leaving only the warmth of my mate’s arms and the steady rhythm of his heartbeat.
