Screw My Childhood Sweetheart His Alpha Brother Marked Me First novel Chapter 162

Anson moved in closer to my other side. I know something that would put you in a good feels coma that’s a hell of a lot more fun than whatever magic inojo River has planned.

I snorted and smacked his stomach. We’re about to talk to my mother. Please don’t make sex jokes.

His lips skimmed the shell of my ear. But I love making you blush.

I shivered again, but this time, the sensation was more than pleasant.

Caspian grinned at me. I’ll give it to Anson. He’s good with distractions.

The best,he quipped back.

I rolled my eyes. No ego either.

Our steps slowed as we reached the patio. Dr. Barton rose and gave us warm smiles. Welcome. Her gaze landed on me, concern filling her eyes. How are you feeling, Senna?

Better.I couldn’t give her more than that. The rollercoaster ride of the past fortyeight hours would take days to explain.

I’m glad to hear it.She glanced over her shoulder at my birth mother. Abigail is doing much better too.Her gaze came back to our group and settled on Mason. The painting was an excellent idea. We’ve had a number of breakthroughs since implementing it.

Mason rubbed at the back of his neck, as if uncomfortable with Dr. Barton’s praise. I’m glad it’s helping. I just remembered how she was always

happiest with a paintbrush in her hand.

Dr. Barton nodded. I’ve taken to giving her pastels in our sessions so that she can sketch while we talk. It has kept her calm, and the drawings

give her another way to communicate with me.

I looked at the painting Abigail was creating now. It was of the gardens in front of us, but more. Within the gardens were wolves in battle. Lightning and sparks of energy dotted the sky. But it was beautiful.

I stepped forward, coming to stand next to her as she layered in storm clouds. This is amazing.

Abigail studied the painting. I’m rusty.

The laugh that came to my lips was nothing but authentic. If this is rusty, then you really put my skills to shame.

She turned towards me. Senna. Her gaze skimmed over me and then she froze. She dropped her paintbrush and pressed her hand to my chest, eyes going wide. He marked you.

My heart pounded against Abigail’s hand. Mmarked?

She tugged at my flannel shirt, exposing the barest hint of a black mark. You have to get it off you.

My entire bond had moved closer, but it was River who actually stepped up next to me. What does the mark mean?

His voice was the gentlest probe. Abigail released her hold on me and stepped back, wringing her hands. He’ll always know where to find you now. As long as it’s present.

That wasn’t great news, but I wasn’t exactly hiding either. I’ll be okay. It’s fading,I assured her.

Tears filled her eyes. I didn’t want this for you.

Want what?

You’re the only one who can stop him. Only you. He’s gotten too strong.Abigail’s fingers tapped a rapid beat against her thigh.

Mason bent and picked up her paintbrush. He kept his movements slow and exaggerated so that he wouldn’t startle her, but he wrapped Abigail’s fingers around the brush and turned her back to the painting. Is he using dark magic?

Abigail began to paint again, her strokes more aggressive than they’d been before. It stains his soul. Turns it black.

But I can stop him?

I could feel the energy of the guys behind me. Worry. Protectiveness. Rage. Now that the bond was complete, I could sense it all. So much more than the brief knowings I’d gotten before.

Abigail darkened the sky above one wolf with a silvergray coat. I had to assume it was Kaleb. There was a cruelty in the wolf’s eyes that I recognized. She swirled the angry clouds spilling out of him. Kaleb’s shields can only be broken by one who bends our very life force.

An energy bender?Knox pushed.

Abigail’s head bobbed up and down as she moved her brush to the girl with her arms extended. You’re the only one who can break through.

Stop it.Vaughn’s words snapped out.

Abigail’s head jerked in his direction and paint flew.

I gaped at him. Vaughn-

She’s not telling you the most important thing. Energy benders and those in their bonds can sometimes break through shields. But if an energy bender pushes too far, it could kill them.

Everyone went silent. The only sound was a faint rustling of leaves in the trees.

Knox shifted in Vaughn’s direction. How do you know that?

I read those damn journals you have when I can’t sleep. The ones from generations ago. There’s a whole section on this shit.He scowled at Abigail. Senna’s not going down that road.*

I bristled at that. Excuse me?
